SUMMARY

Contributes to the acceleration of our striving readers. Works extensively with students to help improve specific reading skills.

Consults frequently with classroom teachers to design and plan interventions. Conducts assessments to identify students eligible for intervention services. Diagnoses reading strengths and weaknesses and matches these skills with appropriate techniques and materials in order promote interest in reading.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Arizona Elementary Certificate K-8 with Reading Endorsement K-8 or K-12

OR

Arizona Secondary Certificate 6-12 with Reading Endorsement K-8 or K-12

Arizona SEI (Structured English Immersion) Endorsement OR Spanish-Bilingual endorsement OR ESL Endorsement

Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated success in engaging African American and Latino students

Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE

Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

COMMENTS

Effective: 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

Location: Alice Vail Middle School - Broadway & Craycroft Area

FTE: 1.0 - 7.5 hours per day

Work Calendar: 9.5 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any contingent Certifications, Positions that are 0.6 FTE or less, and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
