East Bay Community Action Program (EBCAP) is seeking a part time (20 hours per week) Lead Teacher for our Newport Family & Child Opportunity Zone (NFCOZ) Program at the Pell Elementary School in Newport, RI. NFCOZ provides services and referrals to Newport children and their families in school and community settings, in partnership with Newport Public Schools, parents, and the community.
The Lead Teacher works with the Site Coordinator to organize the curriculum and thematic activities for the Champion Childcare Program in the classrooms. The ideal candidate will supervise and direct the childcare teacher assistants, supervise students, facilitate daily activities, build and maintain collaborative relationships with facility and staff, interact with community agencies, promote parent involvement, and maintain the philosophy and mission of the program.
The position requires a minimum of an Associates degree or 60 college credits with 18 of them in a field related to education, child development, or recreation, plus at least one year of supervised experience working with school-age children in a group setting.
