Reports to: Vice Principal

Responsible: (Tasks you are responsible for. Tasks are subject to change)

Ensure Exemplary Scholar Achievement

  • Lead designated data-driven scholar-focused grade-level meetings.

  • Lead I&RS meetings monthly

  • Lead designated data-driven curriculum and instruction-focused subject meetings.

  • Lead peer observations to discuss best practice and ensure the instructional model with fidelity.

  • Model excellent instruction in your own teaching.

  • Help teachers develop instructional strategies and intervention programs that elevate achievement among academically struggling scholars.

Support Professional Development

  • Serve as a mentor and additional coach to the identified Novice Teachers and Assistant Teachers.

  • Participate in the planning, development, coordination and delivery of professional development during the summer Staff Orientation, Summer Session and throughout the school year.

  • Develop and orient assistant teachers, tutors and scholar teachers as requested.

Lead the School to Success

  • Ensure implementation of positive scholar incentives, trips and events for grade levels.

  • Increase continuous scholar achievement and culture for grade levels based on annual action plan goals.

  • Ensure healthy communication between grade level peers, scholars, and families.

  • Assist in the annual curriculum development/revision process.

  • Collaborate with the school leadership team to coordinate the purchase and annual inventory of all curricular materials and instructional supplies and equipment for the members of your team.

Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills:

  • Demonstrate the ability to be self-aware in stressful situations and model exceptional self-management skills.

  • Lead with accountability, empathy, emotional intelligence and empowerment. Lead by example.

  • Engage in Courageous conversations when there is a breach in our high performance culture.

  • Consistently model FA core values; be a visible and highly engaged leader in the school community.

Accountable: ( (What you are accountable for does not change, You are the decider on pivots within the system to meet the following goals)

  • 85% proficiency and a 30% increase proficiency overall in scholar achievement results, outperforming city and state metrics in ELA, Math and Science on NJSLA for the grade level.

  • Retaining 90% of grade level teachers.

  • Ensure execution of a high-performance culture plan grounded in the FA Culture Handbook that creates and maintains an school-wide culture of structure and pride (i.e. implementation of incentive systems, club and enrichment activities, clear schoolwide expectations). Thus achieving:

  • 95% scholar attendance rate

  • 80% or more of all behaviors are Tier 1

Consulted: (You should be deeply knowledgeable about the following. As a result, your input will be considered when overlapping decisions are made due to your expertise and brilliant perspective)

  • Curriculum implementation and unit plan development

  • School and Staff culture

Informed: (Ensure you are up-to-date on how these systems influence the items you are accountable for)

  • Performance Management and Evaluation System for Teacher and Leader Development

  • All things Scholar and Staff Culture: PBIS, Culture and Climate, Attendance

Educational Background and Work Experience:

  • Valid NJ Teaching Certification.

  • At least 3 years of exceptional teaching experience with a record of high scholar achievement.

Stipend: $10,000 with $2,000 bonus to be paid at the conclusion of year if the role metrics are successfully achieved
