Teacher - Head Start (Chapman C Extended Day, Orland)

• Responsible for the supervision of three and four-year-old preschool children.

• Responsible for the daily classroom preparation and clean up.

• Assist and guide parent/community volunteers in the center.

• Implement Creative Curriculum for Preschool as identified.

• Responsible for observations and documentation of Child Outcomes.

• Ensure compliance with Title 22, Community Care Licensing for a childcare facility and policies and procedures as applicable.

• Conduct home visits and parent conferences with each family assigned during the school year, as per model design.

• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for preschool children.

• Support parent engagement at all levels of the department.

• Participate in all family activities and parent committee/workshops and meetings, as scheduled.

• Maintain accurate documentation as assigned.

• Appropriately redirect children's behaviors when needed.

• Step into the role of the Teacher/Director in his/her absence.

• Associate Arts degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with the understanding that you must be enrolled in a program leading to a Bachelor's Degree in order to fully qualify for the position.-Hold or qualify for a Teacher Permit; to include 24 units of ECE/CD courses, plus 16 General Education units. • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10-30 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.-Valid California driver's license and insured reliable transportation.
