QUALIFICATIONS: State of Indiana Teaching License: Deaf and Hard of Hearing
JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time DHH position. This teacher will provide direct services to student, provide consultation to school staff, and chair case conferences for MVCSC students who attend the Indiana School for the Deaf.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary evaluation team to determine whether or not a student qualifies for services under Article 7, Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Review evaluations conducted by the Audiologist to determine educational needs
Follow all local procedures in accordance with Special Education Rules Title 511 Article 7 Rules 32-49 surrounding the initial educational evaluation and/or re-evaluation
Act as TOR for all case conferences when the student's primary area of eligibility is Deaf or Hard of Hearing
Participate in case conferences for MVCSC students who attend the Indiana School for the Deaf
Develop compliant IEPs for all students eligible for services.
Consult with teachers and school staff regarding student needs to ensure that supplementary aids and services and any needed program modifications are provided in accordance with each student's IEP or Service Plan
Provide direct services as outlined in the student's IEP
Determine need for any required equipment or technology required by students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in order to access general education curriculum / environment.
Teach school staff how to monitor the use of individual student technology
Troubleshoot if technology malfunctions.
