Located in Yreka, California, the Siskiyou County Office of Education provides direct educational programs for a specific student population and financial oversight of budgets of school districts in Siskiyou County. Job Summary

Job Summary

Under general supervision of a classroom teacher, the Teacher Assistant/Driver supports a program that allows students to participate in their environment as independently as possible. The Teacher Assistant/Driver supports the instruction, care, and supervision of developmentally, communicatively, or physically disabled children and youth.

This position may include serving incarcerated youth.

The scope of duties includes a variety of general classroom assistance, physical assistance, specialized health care assistance, and providing transportation as defined in student IEPs.

Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any of the following will fulfill the requirement: • Associate's degree or higher • Forty-eight (48) semester units (or equivalent quarter units) at an institute of higher education • Passing score on basic skills competency test provided by SCOE PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS • Experience working with TK-12 students • Experience working with individuals with disabilities The following documents are required to complete the online application:
