This position provides a successful, safe and supervised educational setting for children while they are in the Early Head Start environment (classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips). They will promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Early Head Start children. They will also encourage parent involvement in all aspects of the program.

Duties and

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the care, safety, and well-being of all of the children.
  • Assists with the implementation of a developmentally appropriate program for infants and toddlers.
  • Provides informal parenting
  • education to participants in the Center. Attends trainings required by
  • sponsoring agency and Maryland Family Network.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Associate degree in related field or High School Diploma with 90-hour Child Care Certificate or Infant-Toddler CDA acceptable.
  • Minimum of one year supervised classroom experience with children age zero through three years.

Responsibilities A general understanding of the teacher's routine will be necessary when it comes to covering a classroom if the teacher is preoccupied. You will be required to work with all students in the building to promote their learning and pro-social development. In the event a student becomes a threat to themselves or others, it will be imperative that you provide support including the use of physical intervention techniques. You will assist with parent communication to keep them informed about their child's development and any recent behavioral issues. Overall, general supervision within hallways, classrooms, cafeterias, and school yards will be the daily priority. Qualifications * High School Diploma * College experience and or the completion of a bachelor's degree preferred. * The ability to work and build relationships with students and families to help their school and behavioral progress. * A willingness to attend trainings and meetings to further your skill set.
