Responsibilities

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school effected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. LifeWorks comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and experienced Teacher for our LifeWorks School Emotional Suppport classroom in Doylestown, PA for the remainder of the 2020-2021 Academic School Year.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide academic and functional instruction to students diagnosed with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder in a school setting.

  • Monitor student academic and functional achievement through data collection, observation, and other quantitative methods. Observe and record student progress daily.

  • Develop and monitor student's IEP, reports, goals, objectives, attend IEP meetings, establish, maintain, and work toward student goals as outlined in the IEP.

  • Manage student behavior through individualized motivational systems, S.M.A.R.T. Program and positive behavior support plans.

Qualifications

Bachelor's level degree in Special Education and PA certification in Special Education is required. Content area certifications preferred. Prior experience working with students with behavioral health challenges within a school setting is highly desirable.

We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and experienced. Full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our growing special education team. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: therapy, evaluations, IEP development, and teacher consultation. This individual will be responsible for planning and providing speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, pragmatic, and/or language disorders. This individual will also be responsible for assessing students and providing therapeutic interventions to eliminate or reduce problems or impairments that interfere with the students ability to derive full benefit from the educational program. Qualifications The ideal candidate will: Have a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited school of speech language pathology. Have a current PA license as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Have related experience with students that have emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental disabilities. Demonstrate knowledge of current best practices in the area of speech-language pathology. Demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team. Be committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population. Have a track record of being a team player and community minded. Have excellent time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently and problem solve.
