Elementary Classroom Teacher
School Year: 2024-2025
Contract: 10 month
Position Purpose
As an Elementary School Teacher, you will be instrumental in shaping the educational experience of students at a formative stage of their development. You will implement the district-approved curriculum and foster a nurturing learning environment that promotes student success in academic and interpersonal skills. Your role will be pivotal in documenting student progress and activities while addressing the diverse educational needs of each student.
Essential Functions
Administers a school curriculum aligned with district goals and objectives, ensuring a cohesive educational experience
Foster a classroom atmosphere that supports both individual and group learning activities, ensuring safety and promoting student engagement
Craft lesson plans and instructional materials that convert traditional lessons into engaging learning experiences, optimizing the use of instructional time
Continuously assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special needs, through tailored individual and small group sessions
Teach principles of responsible citizenship and specific subjects as mandated by law and district guidelines, enriching student understanding and compliance
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of student performance, attendance, and activities as per district requirements and legal standards
Actively engage parents in their children's educational process, ensuring transparent communication and fostering a supportive home-learning environment
Ensures that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
Collaborate with peers to assess and enhance the curriculum, participating actively in faculty meetings and committees
Select and manage educational materials and resources, including books and instructional aids, maintaining detailed inventory records.
Oversee and ensure the safety of students during school-related activities outside the classroom, including during transportation
Administer district-mandated standardized tests, ensuring compliance with testing protocols
Additional Duties
Undertake additional duties as directed by the Principal and central office administrators, following guidelines set by the Superintendent
Equipment
Demonstrates strong capabilities with standard office equipment, including personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and telephones. Must be proficient in using technology, including effective use of the internet and search tools for educational purposes
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Possesses deep knowledge of current teaching methodologies and educational pedagogy, including differentiated instruction tailored to various student learning styles
Well-versed in elementary school curriculum and concepts, ensuring a robust and developmentally appropriate educational experience
Skilled in using data information systems for analysis and action plan formulation to enhance educational outcomes
Understand applicable federal and state laws relevant to education and student rights, ensuring compliance and informed instructional decisions
Proficient in using computer network systems and software applications relevant to educational settings
Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate work efficiently
Strong ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering an inclusive and supportive community
Committed to self-evaluation and continual professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness
Able to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all school stakeholders
Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Operates in standard office and school building settings, equipped with the facilities typical of a comprehensive elementary school
The role of a teacher involves diverse physical activities, which may include, but are not limited to:
Frequent movement within the classroom to interact with students and facilitate activities
Occasional need to reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch during classroom and extracurricular activities
Ability to write, type, or handle classroom materials
Ability to lift and carry supplies, textbooks, and equipment as necessary
Visual and auditory acuity to maintain classroom safety and management
Education
Preferred: Arizona State Certification as an Elementary Teacher
Preferred: Arizona State Certification in the appropriate grade level
Required: Bachelor from an accredited college or university
Experience
Open to candidates at all stages of their teaching careers, from early career teachers to those with extensive experience. Prior success in elementary teaching is an advantage
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary:
Bachelors: $52,789 - 64,062 (depending on experience)
Masters: $54,637 - $66,303 (depending on experience)

Pay: $56,789.00 - $66,303.00 per year
