The Murdock Academy for Success Teacher will provide structure, support, and educational
opportunities for students who are at-risk for academic and/or behavior reasons. Work collaboratively
with district and school staff to promote learning and allow students to reach their full potential. QUALIFICATIONS:
? Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
? Licensed to teach high school grade levels through Massachusetts Department of Elementary
and Secondary Education
REPORTS TO:
Principal of Murdock High School
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
? Knowledge of prescribed curriculum, best practices, and current educational research.
? Basic understanding, and knowledge, of technology and software utilized within the district.
? Knowledge of learning styles, and skill in using differentiation to address student learning
needs.
? Excellent oral and written communication with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
? Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness.
? Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze results, and use the results
to drive instruction in the classroom.
? Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly
environment in which to learn.
? Ability to collaborate and work effectively with peers, administrators, and others.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Create goals or and objectives for students based on progress in the program.
? Implement instructional activities which foster collaboration and active student engagement
? Maintain academic focus by using a variety of techniques to encourage and motivate students.
? Establish and implement behavior management techniques that are appropriate and effective.
? Establish classroom routines and procedures for students to consistently follow.
? Communicate high expectations to all students.
? Maintain instructional momentum with smooth and efficient transitions from one activity to
another

Salary in accordance with the Agreement between the Winchendon School Committee and the
Winchendon Teachers' Association.
