Adult Education Teacher

• Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills at South Placer Jail and/or Auburn Main Jail. This position is 7-21 hours per week, 2-4 days per week. Candidate will work directly with minimum and maximum security inmates. Appropriate Valid CA Credential is required. The successful candidate will have the ability to: - Make academic assessments, track progress, and maintain accurate educational records.

• Develop and correct diagnostic tests.

• Use effective classroom management techniques to ensure the security of the classroom environment.

• Develop lesson plans and include individualized training for assignments.

• Provide individual and group instruction and educational counseling.

• Work cooperatively with other education staff.

• Learn and adhere to departmental rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Selected candidate must be willing to teach distance learning when needed. The successful candidate will be required to complete FBI/DOJ clearance and pre-employment online training.
