  • Adhere to safety procedures

  • Gather materials and cooking apparatuses required for both kitchen and MOD/Classroom instruction

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations

  • Demonstrate time management and detail?oriented skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines; while remaining flexible with facility-wide operational changes on a day-to-day basis

  • Provide culinary arts instruction in the kitchen culinary arts area as well as in the classroom

  • Provide direct instruction as part of practical application in the kitchen setting and curriculum based instruction in the classroom setting

  • Provide training necessary for various industry certifications for youth

  • Strengthen the academic and technical skills of the students participating in the Career and Technical program, help organize small scale catering events obtained through the Career and Technical program

  • Oversee daily kitchen maintenance

  • Oversee operations and customer service with food truck deliveries, the facility canteen program; including food preparation, ensure a clean, efficient work environment

  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment and oversee all inventory control

  • Work under the direct supervision of the school principal

  • Oversee the Landscape Design program: the garden and farm area as it relates to Culinary Arts and the "farm to table" movement and science curriculum integration
