TCNJ Summer Community Leaders 2024
The Summer Community Leaders program is a ten-week summer of service experience and a collaborative learning community of 19 excellent undergraduates. SCL members serve 30 hours a week building the capacity of local non-profit partners while receiving rigorous academic, professional, and personal support from TCNJ faculty, staff, and community mentors.
The purpose of the Summer Community Leaders program is to provide mentored internships for students that develop skills in leadership and civic engagement, enhance the academic experience, and inform career goals while building the capacity of non-profit organizations in Trenton and addressing community-identified needs. Member Duties : Summer Community Leaders are matched with local non-profits addressing the following issues: capacity building, food security, adult education (GED, ESL, job skill training), and youth education. SCL will also meet weekly for training and professional development provided by TCNJ Center for Community Engagement.
