Handling tax in such a large, sophisticated organization takes more than just a technical understanding of current tax practices. As an Indirect Tax professional your role will encompass Income Franchise, Sales and Use and Credits and Incentives. In the Senior role, we'll look to you to apply your knowledge to a these tax areas and processes, devising strategic outcomes to some very complex issues. Your key responsibilities

It's fair to say there's no average day for an Indirect Tax Senior - so you're likely to spend your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities and tasks. Whatever you're working on, our clients will turn to you for up-to-the-minute tax advice, upon which they can always rely. To make that happen, you'll be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.

  • Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights

  • Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to our clients

  • Learning and researching current market trends, to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor

  • Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients' tax activities

  • Researching our clients business operations and building long-lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needs

  • Supervising a motivated team of professionals, guaranteeing they have the skills, knowledge and opportunities to reach their full potential

To qualify for the role you must have

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline

  • Professional knowledge in a broad range of state and local tax processes, concepts and tools including Income Franchise, Sales and Use and Credits and Incentives

  • A proven record of excellence in a professional services or tax organization

  • Technical writing and research experience in a tax context

  • The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects

  • Strong influencing skills, and the confidence to question existing processes

Ideally, you'll also have

  • An achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation or possess the ability to sit for or be a member of a state bar

Specific responsibilities may include: * Tax Compliance - Ensure timely and accurate filing of international tax returns including but not limited to Forms 5471, 8858, 8865 and 1118. Work in close partnership with Counsel, Transfer Pricing and DTAG to ensure seamless execution of compliance related tasks. * Tax Provision - Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions as they relate to the foreign components of the U.S. tax return and provision. * Audit Support - Assist in the management of federal audits including drafting responses to government inquires and analysis of audit workpapers. Develop audit strategies and interact with the IRS as needed. * Modeling for International Tax Planning- Build and update tax planning and tax analytic models. Communicate the results to leadership in a concise, transparent manner. * Technical Review- Provide support in the review and analysis of proposed and existing tax laws, regulations, and rulings. Develop in depth technical knowledge about a variety of international and subchapter C topics while monitoring forthcoming guidance regarding U.S. tax reform. * Business Support- Partner with business units and other departments within Corporate Finance to answer inquiries and provide tax support on company initiatives. Build relationships within and outside the tax staff and grow professional network. The position will require strong problem solving skills, decision making ability, effective communication skills and initiative. The successful candidate will work with internal business, finance, legal and tax teams, as well as outside counsel on international tax matters. There may be opportunities for rotation within the Tax Staff or broader finance. Basic Required: * Professional Certification: Certified Public Accountant and Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance * Minimum of 5 years of international tax compliance or international tax technical experience in a corporation, law firm or public accounting firm.
