What your day looks like:

  • Participate in New Hire and Intern training as an instructor and in content development.

  • Assist with the development of two firm tax webinars a month, content development and delivery.

  • Participate in Tax U, Tax Training Conferences, and Industry Conferences as an instructor and in content development.

  • Develop on-demand training for current and new tax software i.e. Axcess, GFR, Engagement and Firm processes.

  • Develop on-demand training in needed technical areas.

  • Review external training resources to identify and recommend for ongoing training needs.

What you will need for this role:

  • Minimum 3 years tax experience in a public accounting firm.

  • Advanced tax degree or solid foundation in tax knowledge

  • Problem solver who is adept at learning new software.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience presenting/teaching or known for good "on the job training of staff

  • Strong presentation skills and/or content development skills.

VIEW JOBS 8/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-16T00:00 This role serves as a point person for training and development at the IT Support Center, with supervisory responsibilities to ensure that high availability of support services are provided to the VCU community. It is tasked with managing the on-boarding, training and development program for staff, which includes but is not limited to overseeing the hiring of part-time employees, managing the IT Support Center training program, and assisting with initiatives aimed at continual staff development. Additionally, this position assesses developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for staff. This role also coordinates the administration of LinkedIn Learning for VCU, including but not limited to authentication, user policy and promotion of service in coordination with other departments. This supervisory role provides leadership to the IT Support Center employees in coordination with IT Support Center Leadership, ensuring that employees remain motivated, informed and knowledgeable in order to provide mission-critical IT support to the VCU community. Minimum Qualifications * Demonstrated knowledge of customer service skills and abilities. -Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with staff and coworkers in a team environment to provide technical support, documentation, consultation, and training in software applications and procedures. -Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information so that it is understandable to novice computer users. -Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve common desktop software, hardware and communication issues including the ability to use enterprise troubleshooting tools. -Demonstrated knowledge of IT concepts and terminology. -Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced and dynamic environment is required. -Bachelor's degree in business, organizational development, information technology or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
