Responsibilities

  • Provide corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, private companies and owner-managed businesses

  • Provide clients assistance with ASC 740 (FAS 109 & FIN 48) including but not limited to calculating current/deferred taxes and tax account roll forwards, assessing valuation allowances, and calculating global tax provisions for SEC filings.

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experience, industries may include but not be limited to financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail, or utilities.

  • Conduct tax research

  • Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge/research to a specific client's situations

  • Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice, including analyzing business processes and identifying ways to automate processes and/or implement improved processes

  • Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff

  • Develop business by expanding existing relationships with clients, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, business, and professional organizations

  • Candidates should be growth-motivated with the objectives to grow his/her practice with compliance and consulting service

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively at all levels #LI-BN

Qualifications

  • 7-15 years in tax accounting required, preferably with a Big Four or Regional Firm

  • CPA certification required

  • Strong skills in Corporate compliance, Multi-State Taxation (apportionment, nexus, and/or controversy resolution) and ASC 740 (FAS109) highly preferred

  • Corptax, OneSource, and/or TaxStream experience highly preferred

  • Strong skills in tax research and writing preferred

  • 3 years of supervisory experience highly preferred

  • Tax return review experience required

  • BS in Accounting required

  • Master's in Taxation preferred

As part of our team, you'll help the team provide a full range of taxation services to PwC related to complex financial reporting, cost management, tax planning, investment management and transaction processing. Responsibilities As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Demonstrates thorough level of abilities and/or proven record of success performing individual tax compliance/reviews and planning for executives, preferably for a global network of professional services firms, including the following: * Emphasizing the use of firm-issued technologies, e.g., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel PowerPoint, SharePoint, et al; Google at Work: docs, sheets, slides, drive, et al; Lotus Notes, etc.; * Leveraging technical skills with reviewing individual tax returns and tax planning for partners within a firm or executives, especially identifying and addressing client tax issues; identifying a broad range of financial planning issues that are applicable to the partner and directing them to the appropriate internal resources for assistance; * Managing tasks in the engagement including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics with the occurrence of unanticipated issues; * Collaborating with team members virtually; * Performing as a project leader: creating a positive environment by managing deadlines and workload while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues; * Utilizing project management and communication skills, including managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; and preparing, coordinating, reviewing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; * Working within various tax preparation software and on-line tax organizers, especially leading executives to understand and use various proprietary software and websites; * Researching complex individual tax issues; and, * Being comfortable performing in environments with on-going change and leveraging new technology.
