Responsibilities

  • Provide corporate tax compliance and advisory services to a variety of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, private companies and owner-managed businesses

  • Provide clients assistance with ASC 740 (FAS 109 & FIN 48) including but not limited to calculating current/deferred taxes and tax account roll forwards, assessing valuation allowances, and calculating global tax provisions for SEC filings.

  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide industry knowledge and experience, industries may include but not be limited to financial services, insurance, manufacturing, retail, or utilities.

  • Conduct tax research

  • Keep informed of current tax developments and effectively apply tax knowledge/research to a specific client's situations

  • Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high quality tax service and advice, including analyzing business processes and identifying ways to automate processes and/or implement improved processes

  • Provide overall leadership, supervision, training, and performance feedback to staff

  • Develop business by expanding existing relationships with clients, maintaining personal networks, and participating in civic, business, and professional organizations

  • Candidates should be growth-motivated with the objectives to grow his/her practice with compliance and consulting service

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively at all levels #LI-BN

Qualifications

  • 7-15 years in tax accounting required, preferably with a Big Four or Regional Firm

  • CPA certification required

  • Strong skills in Corporate compliance, Multi-State Taxation (apportionment, nexus, and/or controversy resolution) and ASC 740 (FAS109) highly preferred

  • Corptax, OneSource, and/or TaxStream experience highly preferred

  • Strong skills in tax research and writing preferred

  • 3 years of supervisory experience highly preferred

  • Tax return review experience required

  • BS in Accounting required

  • Master's in Taxation preferred

Skills and attributes for success * Direct, train and mentor assistant manager, senior and associate analysts * Clearly define and communicate process documents and standards for US analysts and GDS * Identify and remediate process inefficiencies * Review budgets, billing opportunities and engagement economics; alert Tax functional leader to any areas of concern * Develop and deliver timely and responsive services along with high-quality work products that exceed client expectations * Identify and offer opportunities for tax planning and other special service offerings * Prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's tax situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions for nonsignificant tax advice matters * For significant tax advice matters, prepare appropriate documentation and recommendations for further review and approval at the PPEDD level To qualify for the role you must have * Bachelor degree or equivalent experience (Accounting, Business, Finance or equivalent degree preferred) * CPA, JD or CMI * Minimum of five years of relevant property tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry * Experience managing and leading analysts and assistant managers * Experience coaching, mentoring and developing analysts and assistant managers * Experience with planning, process improvements and problem resolution * Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, property tax administration applications (e.g., PTMS and OneSource for Property Tax) and ability to learn other software applications Ideally, you'll also have * Experience in a professional services environment What we look for We're interested in people with initiative, who are not afraid to speak up, with a genuine desire to make things better across the business.
