CBIZ is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for the Boca office.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

  • Serve as client's trusted advisor, demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, identify client issues and conflicts; proactively communicate solution options to client and team

  • Manage staff on engagement deliverables (such as financial statements, tax returns, work papers, etc.); complete technical and strategic reviews as a member of the final engagement review team to ensure quality control standards are met; ensure on time delivery and on budget

  • Demonstrate proficient technical skills for handling all client responsibilities, including knowledge of trends, industries, alternatives, etc.

  • Understand the client's organization, procedures and internal policies

  • Reviewing complex tax returns including international, federal and multi-state returns for C Corporations, S corporations, partnerships, high net worth individuals, trusts & estates, and foundations

  • Understanding your clients' goals and needs and servicing clients directly

  • Owning client relationships and work

  • Strategizing with Managing Directors regarding tax planning

  • Provide clients' with recommendations and guidance on how to achieve their goals and assist in identifying opportunities for growth with clients

  • Researching tax issues and providing guidance to clients

  • Working closely with staff, and assisting senior management in mentoring, coaching, training, supervising, and evaluating staff

  • Foster a team environment; demonstrates support of management and decisions and build a positive culture

  • Participate in practice development activities that lead to the generation of new business and the opportunities for cross-serves

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field

  • 8 years technical tax experience in public accounting, or related field

  • 5 supervisory experiences

  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification

  • Ability to manage all aspects of client engagements

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability, strong operational and project management skills

  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

  • Proficient use of applicable technology

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Gather Data from Great Plains or other databases as necessary in order to prepare and book journal entries into Great Plains. * Assist with our quarterly property tax accrual and payment analysis work utilizing Pivot Tables and V-Lookups * Gather payment data from Great Plains and analyze for accuracy to prepare monthly reconciliations of property tax payment data. * Prepare spreadsheets and memoranda to analyze and present findings to our internal and external auditors * Assist Property Tax Manager as instructed with Sarbanes Oxley documentation and test requirements * Identify, on an ongoing basis, ways to gain efficiencies in processes and leverage technology and provide recommendations to Property Tax Manager. * Assist in implementing identified changes to property tax processes, as indicated by and in collaboration with Property Tax Manager. * Troubleshoot issues with PTMS, our property tax software system, when reported by departmental system users in order to reach a solution for the user or escalate issue as needed. * Review property tax batch for accuracy and provide Accounts Payable the approval to proceed with processing. Notify Property Tax Manager of any inaccuracies. * Upon receipt of property tax bills, enter data into PTMS in order to process for payment, as needed * Prepare annual property tax returns by the specified filing due date. * Respond to tax inquiries posed by internal and external customers within the designated timeframe for that inquiry or within a timely manner. * Research bills for back billing opportunities and assist with back billing process * Research delinquent tax bills by making phone calls and conducting online searches and then communicate findings to Property Tax Manager * Other projects and duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: * None Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
