A career in our Tax Reporting and Strategy practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients' tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You'll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making. Our team helps our clients expand the tax role to include research, analytics, and technologies to improve how their organisation collaborates and performs. You'll focus on enhancing the tax reporting process by incorporating increased automation, integrating quality data, developing analytic capabilities, and utilising technology to deliver better quality output in less time.

Responsibilities

As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients, while reporting to Senior Managers and above

  • Be involved in the financial management of clients

  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients

  • Contribute to the development of your own and team's technical acumen

  • Develop strategies to solve complex technical challenges

  • Assist in the management and delivering of large projects

  • Train, coach, and supervise staff

  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues

  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

Comprehensive knowledge of the tax issues facing multinational US companies or publically traded entities, with an emphasis on tax compliance and consulting services tailored to organizations with domestic operations and the goal of tax minimization. Working knowledge of FAS 109 and related software, Beta Management, Organization Design, Process Improvement, Controls, and Risk Management. Some knowledge of general tax. Working knowledge of FAS 109 and FIN 48.

Demonstrated experience identifying and addressing client needs: actively participating in client discussions and meetings; communicating a broad range of Firm services; managing engagements including preparing concise, accurate documents and balancing project economics management with the occurrence of unanticipated issues. Demonstrated experience as a team leader: creating a positive environment by monitoring workloads of the team while meeting client expectations and respecting the work-life quality of team members; providing candid, meaningful feedback in a timely manner; and keeping leadership informed of progress and issues.

The Transaction Tax Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance of tax records and preparation of sales and use tax, property tax, and transaction tax returns. The Transaction Tax Manager also assists with audits, analyzes tax issues, and performs tax research, as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Ensures overall compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations * Manage all third-party advisor relationships and related data requests * Ensures timely filing and generation of tax remittances * Manage tax compliance audits and special project through completion, as necessary * Effectively coordinate internal exemption certificate management (collection/ filings) * Collaborate with Legal to coordinate franchise tax agreements renewals and review new agreements * Track and coordinate business license filings * Manage all sales and use tax filings * Responsible for accurate billing of transaction tax and recovery fees to Customers * Evaluates the tax impact of current and proposed activities and transactions * Research transaction tax issues to identify solutions for products and services * Assists with research and planning according to the current laws and/or Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) * Prepare monthly and quarterly tax general ledger account reconciliations * Review company records and general ledger accounts to properly accrue use tax * Research and responds to complex tax and accounting issues related to financial reporting, accounting policies and procedures, and special transactions * Coordinate and develop relationships to foster relationships within accounting and other departments * Design and implement process improvements benefiting quality and efficiency of tax reporting * Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Associates seeking to join Uniti are motivated individuals with exceptional organizational skills, an ability to multitask, attention to detail, and effective communication skills – both written and verbal.
