Main Responsibilities: Ability to handle tax matters of two countries: US and Canada

Core Business Processes:

• Preparation and filing of US State Tax returns (Commercial Act Tax, General Excise Tax, Franchise Tax, Control Litter Tax, etc)

• Maintaining and updating tax database associated with State / Federal notices from tax authorities

• Resolve notices received from Federal/State tax authorities (US and Canada)

• Handle proper communication with State tax authorities

• Make sure that Upfield complies with tax requirements of donations to take proper tax deduction

• Setting up an efficient process to gather information of non-resident vendors to exempt/decrease withholding tax (Forms 1042 and T4A-NR)

• Reconcile CRA accounts vs tax payments to verify that tax payments were applied correctly

• Assistance during preparation and submission of annual tax returns and Transfer Pricing Study

• Assistance on US/Canada official audits: preparing responses, creating schedules, reconciliations, etc

• Provide internal tax advice on day-to-day transactions

• Collaborating with finance and accounting teams to ensure our tax strategies and policies are implemented accurately per national tax compliances

• Identifying, tracking and reporting any potential tax risks or issues and working closely with the accounting teams to implement appropriate solutions.

• Identifying potential tax savings opportunities

• Assist in ad-hoc activities as directed by the NA Controller
