Requirement to work ONSITE at PODS corporate center in Clearwater, FL Monday - Thursday, Friday remote. In-office presence is important for cultivating a collaborative and innovative work environment. When people are together in the same space, they are more likely to build relationships, share ideas, and solve problems together.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Understand companies' book accounting in relation to what is needed for tax accounting.

  • Determine processes to inquire, collect, validate and summarize data for intended tax use.

  • Review and maintain income tax provision under ASC740.

  • Perform process control to achieve data accuracy and applicability.

  • Ensure delivery of tax sections for financial reporting deadlines.

  • An administrator of company's income tax provision and income tax compliance software.

  • Coordinate with financial reporting auditors.

  • Assist the Head of Tax to establish applicable tax positions.

  • Explain tax positions and resolve differences.

  • Assist the Head of Tax to prioritize value-added tasks.

  • Monitor cross-functional processes for efficiency and completion.

  • Coach and train tax associates.

  • Assist or manage special projects as required

  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting desired

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar certification is required

  • 4 plus years of Income Tax compliance experience is required

  • 2 plus years of Income Tax Accounting (ASC 740) and reporting experience is required

  • International tax experience is preferred

  • At least three years preparing and analyzing financial information in a corporate (public or nonpublic) corporate environment

  • Strong knowledge of general accounting and corporate income taxation

  • Possess math skills sufficient to perform required duties

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience

  • Review and prepare work papers and memos for income tax accounting (ASC740)

  • Manage financial audit process

  • Review and prepare memos for tax positions, including income tax, SUT, GST/HST/PST, property tax etc.

  • Manage and review monthly or quarterly tax accounts reconciliation and closing

  • Review and prepare memos for special projects, such as acquisitions or research

  • Analyze and quantify tax impacts from specific transactions, including operational and tax law changes.

  • Ensure the adoption of effective and efficient processes and procedures
