Tax Manager- Hybrid Work Schedule

We're in search of a Tax Manager to join our growing firm. The Manager is accountable for all phases of the client tax engagement, including budget, staff, planning, production, first level or final review, total work quality and profitability of the engagement. Managers act in a leadership role, setting an ethical, technical, quality and leadership example for direct reports and colleagues. A Manager is a CPA and is an integral part of the management team. This opening will support our Harrisonburg, VA office.

What you'll do

• Facilitates client engagement and manages the client relationship including billing and collecting.

• Serves as point of contact for clients.

• Signs tax returns.

• Develops, trains, and leads team members to greater levels of effectiveness and engagement by providing detailed review and analysis of their work while monitoring key employee performance metrics.

• Schedules and manages the workload of team members (direct reports) to promote the most efficient and profitable operation.

• Contributes to the strategic planning and direction of the Tax department.

• Engages in business development opportunities with responsibility for firm growth of new clients and further developing services provided to existing clients.

• Monitors legislative/regulatory tax law developments and updated tax practices that could affect the business climate.

• Provides leadership in an area of focus and specialization including serving on a tax committee.

• Completes special projects as assigned.
