The time is right to join HNTB! We are seeking a Tax Manager to join our Kansas City, MO office.
Responsible for preparation of all tax returns and related reports to ensure organization compliance with all federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations. Helps with the preparation of tax papers given to our third party vendor for preparation of our QSSS tax returns. Responsible for preparing FIN 48 documentation; helps offices and marketing with business/tax questions on RFP's; responsible for obtaining credits and incentives in every jurisdiction; works with our third party vendors on the R&D Credit; works with operations in setting up and supporting joint ventures; and any other task that might be needed.
Oversees that all compliance and related schedules are prepared and filed in a timely manner.
Reviews all tax schedules necessary for our third party vendor to prepare our QSSS tax returns; also is responsible for FIN 48 documentation and quantifying M-1's and documenting.
Responsible for credits and incentives in all jurisdictions.
Assists with audits as needed.
Helps set up joint ventures to make sure they are set up correctly to minimize taxes.
Helps to handle notices from all jurisdictions.
Works with offices to minimize their taxes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualification Bachelor's degree in Accounting 5 years experience in public and/or private tax accounting CPAPreferred Qualification/Skills- Master's degree
1 year Management experience
Vast knowledge of credits and incentives as well as an emphasis on state and local taxes
Good communication skills, written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to research to find answers to tax questions
Prior management experience preferred
Be willing to learn incentives and credits if not already known *LI-NF *INDGeneral Work Conditions Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.
