Job Description
Flexible Location: New York, NY, Wilmington DE, Philadelphia, PA - Hybrid (Must be commutable to our Wilmington, DE and New York, NY locations when needed).
IFF, a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, is seeking a Tax Manager to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This role will report directly to the Senior Manager of State and Local Tax Compliance and be responsible for the preparation and management of all US and Canada Indirect Tax Compliance.
Responsibilities:
Supervise team in ISSC in the ongoing operation of the Sales and Use Tax function.
Work with outside consultants to make sure that all compliance is filed timely and accurately.
Serve as US contact for all state sales and use tax items, including both with internal and external customers.
Review of account reconciliations and entries for all Indirect tax accounts
Clearance of all sales and use notices, audits, and any other issues as they arise.
Establish with outside consultants an ongoing process for streamline use tax accruals.
Supervise the preparation, filing, and payment of all Canada GST/HST returns.
Work with plants to make sure all sales tax exemptions are in place.
Ongoing maintenance of exemption certificate collection
Assist in other indirect tax matters as needed.
Work with outside consultants to organize all Property tax filings, billing, and appeals.
Maintain calendar and site map with contacts, assessments, due dates, and payments.
Serve as Property Tax point of contact in Tax Department
Resolve property tax notices and audits as they arise.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; CPA and/or Master's in taxation.
6-8 Years in Big 4 or Multinational Corporation tax department
Can work independently in fast paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to communicate tax issues to non-tax teams within company.
Ability to use best judgement and leverage prior experience involving various compliance calculations.
Collaboration with a significant amount of internal and external stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Proficiency in SAP
Strong organizational, time management, verbal, and communication skills
