This job is everything Tax! You will be exposed to Federal, State, Local, International and every other type of tax in between. There will be the opportunity to work individually and in a team atmosphere with plenty of exposure to upper management. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a dynamic environment while managing multiple projects.

In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:

  • Prepare and file the corporate federal, state and international tax forms

  • Calculate and maintain tax accounting records including deferred taxes and effective tax rates

  • Collaborate with project teams to minimize tax costs and risks

  • Respond to internal and external audit requests

  • Work with the accounting team to calculate tax forecasts

  • Monitor changes to tax regulations and react accordingly

  • Lead the preparation and calculation of the yearly transfer pricing study and R&D credit calculation

  • Ensure compliance with state sales tax and international VAT regulations

  • Manage the property tax process

  • Other duties as required

Reports to: Chief Accounting Officer

This role is best suited for a candidate that possess the following qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a tax related role

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance

  • Strong research, analytical and problem solving skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills

  • Indirect tax experience (i.e sales taxes)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA and/or Masters Degree in taxation

  • Exposure to international taxation and transfer pricing

Your work will include, but not be limited to: * Responsible for management and leadership with respect to preparing and reviewing PM partnership tax returns for P&M Holding Group, LLP and affiliated entities. This would include all federal, state, and city tax returns. * Responsible for a management and a leadership role in managing the Firm's partner 1040 preparation project. * Responsible for accurate and timely quarterly estimated payments for states and cities in which the firm conducts business. * Responsible for holding update status and update meetings with staff involved in the process. * Responsible for holding and leading training sessions on tax return preparation and methods * Responsible for tax planning and research for firm related items as needed along with support from the Firm's tax department. Participate in partner retirement meetings * Draft or review certain legal agreements for partners entering or withdrawing from the Firm. * Challenge methods of the process and search for technology solutions to prepare returns efficiency. Looks for ways to standardize the process. * Oversee and prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and management reports for assigned Plante Moran entities, including preparing and/or reviewing workpapers and journal entries. * Lead semi-annual planning and update meetings with firm management with respect to tax planning, and issues to address. * Responsible for management of direct reports as assigned including career development, training and growth The qualifications. * Bachelor's degree in Accounting required * CPA required * Requires 5-10 years of accounting experience. Must have tax acumen. Position does not require a tax expert, however it does require someone who is familiar with business and personal taxes and has interest in providing this specialized function for the firm * Technology skills including those required to be proficient with financial accounting and reporting systems and other word/graphics programs (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) * Use of Firm's new Caseware product would be required Our difference.
