Ortho Clinical Diagnostics is recruiting for a Tax Co-op; this position will be located in Waltham, Massachusetts.
The Tax Co-op program is approximately a 10 month school year program (durations and schedules can vary) focused on providing college students with practical business experience. It allows them to develop leadership, technical, and communication skills, as well as, broaden their understanding of the concepts learned in school and "get a taste of the real world" before they are fully committed to it.
The Co-op program participants will be better able to apply concepts learned in the classroom and will be able to ask more poignant questions of their professors to further their goals and education. The Co-op program can be a feeder for entrance into entry level opportunities within OCD. Co-ops also have the opportunity to participate in cross-functional development events to enhance professional and technical skill sets.
Co-op program participant roles and responsibilities include:
Active engagement in the preparation of the global corporate income tax provision and U.S. tax compliance (federal, state and local).
Assistance with various other domestic and internation tax deliverables; including interaction with our external consultants regarding outsourced sales and use and property tax compliance.
Additionally they will assist with preparation of formal responses to correspondence received from government authorities, and assemble data in preparation for statutory (domestic and international) audits.
Current enrollment in an accredited College/University is required. A Major in Accounting or Finance with a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA is required.
Intermediate level of knowledge of MS Excel and Word is required. Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week is required, additional hours are also available. Legal authorization to work in the United States, without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H1-B status) now or in the future is required.
In addition, strong technological skills and the ability to work and adapt to various systems. Ability to communicate/present issues in a clear and effective manner across all levels.
Process oriented individual with the willingness and desire to create new or improve existing processes and procedures. Have the desire to work in a dynamic environment where things are constantly changing and evolving.
