Tax Director

Title: Director, Tax

Our client is a DC-based accounting and business advisory firm, the executive team is seeking a full-time tax professional that resides on the East Coast to remotely lead and grow the tax division. This opportunity has an expedited partner track, and should be compelling to professionals who value quality of life and a long-term career growth. This boutique firm supports small clients (for-profit and non-profit) with revenues ranging from $5 to $25mm. The opportunity boasts a fully remote, flexible work schedule and a consistent 40-to-45 hour work week. Occasional visits to the DC office may be required as needed over the course of the year.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Individual Business Owner Tax Preparation, Tax Preparation for Businesses, and Tax Planning
• C Corp Federal and State Returns
• S Corp Federal and State Returns
• Individual Federal and State Returns
• Partnership Schedules for Personal Returns
• Not-for-Profit 990 returns of all types
• File annual state tax filings such as DC Bi-Annual and DC Property returns
• Register organizations to do business in various states
• Register organizations for various State payroll taxes
• Review financial statements to ensure readiness for taxes
• Oversee and perform client and firm 1099 filings

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• CPA / EA certification (ability to reactivate if inactive)
• 5+ years of progressive tax experience
• Possess a broad tax knowledge
• Strong communication, research, analytical and writing skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple ongoing projects and deliverables
