Overview and Responsibilities -

This position will be responsible for various tax matters for all Volvo US tax entities. This tax professional should be well-rounded and have exposure in various tax area. This position will be responsible for the preparation of all Federal, State/Local income tax returns including tax audits, tax accounting matters and quarterly tax provisions. Since the manufacturing plant qualifies for various tax credits/incentives, this position will be required to comply with the filing requirements for such incentives including researching new credits/incentives as needed. Candidate will also assist the Tax Director with various tax matters as needed.

Responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of Federal tax returns and worksheets for US entities, including estimated tax payment calculations & extensions

• Preparation of 55+ separate/combined State/Local tax returns, including estimated tax payments & extensions.

• All compliance required to claim various Federal & State Tax Credits/Incentives for Volvo US entities (with assistance from KPMG)

• Preparation of quarterly/annual tax provisions & insuring data is properly submitted in consolidation to Sweden

• Calculation of tax depreciation for the US Manufacturing Plant and other entities within the group.

• Respond to tax audit inquiries raised by the IRS and State tax authorities

• Assist in the preparation of the Annual Transfer Pricing Study and provide US annual data to Sweden as required.

• Preparation of VAT refund claims

• Monitoring tax law developments to insure all returns comply with latest tax laws

• Proactively research and identify new incentives/credit opportunities and communicate them to management.

• Streamlining tax processes where needed and implement system changes to improve efficiency and accuracy in our department.

• Ability to work closely with our Finance group

• Assist Tax Director with various tax issues or projects as needed

• Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time & prioritize them in accordance with Tax Managers needs

• Handle or assist in special ad hoc projects as needed based on business needs

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of diversified tax experience industry and/or Big 4

• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Taxation.

• Hands on experience in preparing Corporate Federal & Multi-State income tax returns

• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting & provision matters.

• Excellent tax research skills and ability to discuss complex tax matters in simple terms to non-tax personnel.

• Excellent time management skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

• Strong Analytical skills with attention to details

• Intermediate Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant

• Familiarity with Pro Systems Tax Software, CCH Fixed Asset Manager, CCH Tax Research Services
