Thomson Reuters located in Ann Arbor, is seeking a student who is in the school of finance pursuing a degree in finance or accounting or business. At Thomson Reuters, a Tax Compliance Analyst Intern will have the responsibilities of testing tax compliance software utilizing UltraTax CS with the Estate and Trust (1041 Team) which would include the federal product and state products. The process of testing the software will start with tax law changes in the software, the engineer will then complete the changes, the tax compliance analyst will write the specifications and then the student intern will test the changes and determine if there are bugs or issues with the new changes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Testing 1041 tax compliance software

  • Reading and understanding the testing specifications

  • Attending mentorship meetings

  • Testing state returns on the Ultra Tax Software

  • Giving feedback on issues and items that are reported software bugs
