Roles and Responsibilities
Be part of team that drives innovation and process design for all US Indirect Tax disciplines such as sales/hotel, use, property and gross receipt reporting and unclaimed property.
Responsible for filing sales and hotel occupancy tax returns each month, including analysis of the transaction data
Responsible for filing various U.S. and local gross receipts returns, business personal property and use tax returns.
Identify and implement process automation using Excel, SQL, and potentially artificial intelligence (RPA) software and tools
Collaborate with peers and upper management on a variety of projects and U.S. Indirect Tax analysis
Document U.S. Indirect Tax processes
Implement and maintain U.S. Indirect Tax functions to include exemption certificate management, big data analysis, build/maintain Tableau dashboarding for management reporting, indirect tax accrual accounting analysis and reporting
Experience, Personality Traits, Passions
1+ year of experience as a tax professional, U.S. Indirect tax a plus
BA/BS in accounting or related field with strong desire to work in U.S. indirect tax
Inquisitive- eager to learn, inclined to investigate and identify an answer or solution independently, thinks critically about their work, enjoys creative problem solving
High elasticity to change. Due to new company initiatives and rapid changes in sales and hotel occupancy tax legislation and business initiatives, this individual needs to have the flexibility to quickly pivot to new tasks
Thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks at once
Works independently to complete tasks timely, but also enjoys brainstorming and collaborating with colleagues
Computer savvy- strong Excel skills, interest in learning SQL or artificial intelligence software, able to quickly learn various software applications
