BWXT is looking for a Tax Analyst for its Charlotte, NC location The Tax Analyst will report to the Income Tax Manager and will support the tax department’s various income tax functions with an emphasis on tax compliance, particularly preparation of the federal consolidated and state income tax returns. This role will also support the tax provision process as well as various other processes to assist in accomplishing departmental goals and creating cost efficiencies and accurate work products. Responsibilities and duties: Preparation of the consolidated federal income tax return and related partnerships tax returns. Preparation of numerous state income and franchise returns on a separate, combined, and unitary basis. Assistance with the preparation of numerous Canadian corporate income tax returns. Assistance with the preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC 740. Calculation and filing of quarterly estimated and extension payments, both federal and state, and preparation of quarterly tax payment reconciliation. Preparation of the federal excise tax returns on a quarterly basis and remittance of any excise tax payments. Assistance with federal, state, and local tax audits including the preparation of responses to IDRs and other audit inquiries. Support of other tax-related special projects as directed by management. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA or advanced degree in Taxation, a plus. Minimum of two (2) years of corporate income tax experience. Requires an understanding of general tax principles and the ability to apply these principles in areas such as federal consolidated returns, partnerships, U.S. international tax concepts, unitary and combined state and local tax reporting, and ASC 740 reporting. Experience with Corptax would be ideal and experience with SAP or OneStream is preferred. The ability and desire to identify process/procedural changes to maximize operational efficiencies and reduce costs. Ability to read and interpret tax law to ensure the company’s taxes are prepared in compliance with current tax legislation. Strong organizational and computer skills (e.g., MS Office Suite) Ability to work and communicate with all levels of division operations and corporate financial personnel. Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for operating in a challenging and dynamic environment. Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship
