We are currently seeking a highly skilled tax professional to support indirect state & local tax for US-based multinational. In addition to strong technical tax and research skills, candidate must demonstrate ability to partner with tax and finance teams from across all geographies and at all levels. Candidate must also be a team-player at core who thrives on collaborating closely with other tax and finance department professionals in extremely collegial and supportive work environment

Primary responsibilities

  • Timely, expertly, & accurately prepare/review/file sales and use tax returns & related tax payments with various taxing jurisdictions.

  • Prepare timely and accurate general ledger account reconciliations to ensure balances are consistent with underlying tax filings.

  • Assist with business personal property tax filings and processing of property tax bills for payment.

  • Monitor and maintain the tax compliance calendar to ensure all filings are completed on a timely basis.

  • Research and respond to tax notices from various jurisdictions.

  • Assist with sales and use tax audits.

  • Assist with exemption certificate management.

  • Statutory research and monitoring of legislative changes which may impact Company.

  • Continue to identify, develop, and recommend internal process improvement strategies and implement once approved.

  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience in sales and use tax/property tax compliance.

  • Vertex Returns experience highly preferred.

  • Expert level Excel skills and demonstrated ability to manipulate large, complex data sets.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and against established deadlines.

  • Attention to detail with excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate across organizational functions.
