Responsibilities:

Summary:
This is an exempt position requiring extensive experience with and knowledge of US Army ground maintenance and logistics operations. Performs quality assurance checks of processed ground equipment operations and maintenance data. Provides input into designing and enhancing data review applications. Assists in developing training material and procedural guides for field data collection employees. Conducts training on-site or through web-based applications, as required. Performs historical data cleanup functions. Writes and runs database queries to identify errors and anomalies in reviewed data. Reports to the Assistant Program Manager Ground.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
include the following.

  • Conducts Level-3 quality assurance reviewer and approver functions with specific focus on operations and maintenance data validity and accuracy, TAMMS data accuracy and appropriateness, and replacement parts, MOS and manhour correctness.

  • Assists in data review system design, development, implementation, and support.

  • Assists in providing training support, development, implementation and evaluation.

  • Assists in designing procedures to import or enter Army STAMIS and contractor data into the SDC data review application.

  • Assists in developing procedures, guidance and logic for automated and non-automated data review.

  • Evaluates system performance during normal field collection periods, and stress testing prior to release of new or enhanced applications.

  • Maintains familiarity with system integration techniques, functionality trade-off analysis, and life-cycle design, planning, development, and execution.

  • Supports corporate requirements, functions and goals, as required.

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of available products for in-house application.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field, or possesses equivalent experience.

  • Seven years minimum experience with Army maintenance operations, policies and procedures.

  • Seven years minimum experience with TAMMS.

  • Four years minimum experience GCSS-A systems, reports and queries.

  • Must be a self-motivated and disciplined person capable of using logic and creativity to solve complex problems.

  • Capable of effectively using Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook), Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Basic, and Java.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to use basic mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to

Job Description: Performs technical work within the Small Arms Systems Division (SASD). The work requires the ability to select established methods, procedures, and techniques relative to small and medium caliber weapon systems testing. The SAT III performs assigned tasks that are not necessarily standardized or prescribed related to test setup, test execution, test teardown, test item disposition, minimal maintenance of weapon systems, and facility operation with minimal oversight. The SAT III is able to extract information from field notes, manuals, or test plans to accomplish his tasks. He/she may mentor other technicians of the same or lesser grade on acceptable techniques and process improvements. He/she receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from SAT IV, test officer, or facility manager as needed and performs recurring work independently. The work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. The tasks may relate to target fabrication, test stand emplacement, basic instrumentation setup and operation, collection of ballistic data, operation and maintenance of specialized facility equipment such as mounts, boresights, quadrants, environmental conditioning chambers, air filtration systems; transport of equipment, stowage, and ammunition to/around the test site; disassembly/demil of targets; firing of weapons; operation of tools, vehicles, and equipment; recording of test data. The SAT III may support operations at various small arms test ranges or may be assigned to a specific SASD test facility (i.e., Michaelsville ranges, Romney Creek, New Bombing Field, etc.) #cjpost Qualifications: 5 yr. applicable experience (AMT & SAT)- 5 yr. applicable experience firing weapons or equivalent test and evaluation range experience); or at least 60 credit hours or an Associate's Degree and 3 yr. applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and 4 yr. applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and 3 yr. applicable experience; or a Bachelor's Degree and 1 year applicable experience. Technician specialized areas include: Armaments and Munitions (AMT), Ballistic Instrumentation, Close Combat, Data System, Flash X-Ray, Generator Test Site, Geodetics, Maritime (MT), Mobile Equipment Tester, Network, Optical Engineering, Optical Instrumentation, Small Arms (SAT), Soldier Systems, and Vulnerability/Lethality (VLT). Forklift license. Essential Functions Form: UNUSUAL OR SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION Leads a crew in the set-up, transport, and operation of weapon systems, ranging from 17 caliber to 40 mm weapons as well as the set-up of test events using explosive threats. The ability to squat, crawl, kneel and climb into or under a vehicle is required (up to 25%). The ability to bend, stoop, and crouch is required (up to 50%). Walking a minimum of 50 yards over rough terrain is required (up to 25%). The ability to push and pull as well as lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required (up to 75%). DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT Work environment may be inside or outside depending on the task. The ability to work in outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and other outdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 50%). Must be able to work in areas where only portable restroom facilities are available (up to 25%). Work environment may be fast-paced and require work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion of a task. Position will require multiple task efforts. Work may require being assigned to shift work (up to 20%). EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS Fires small and medium caliber (17 caliber to 40 mm) weapons and/or large caliber weapons. Operates and maintains specialized equipment. Is familiar with technical and field manuals. The requirements include the ability to work at unprotected heights, be around moving machinery/equipment, and drive auto equipment, forklifts and other equipment as needed with proper certifications. CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE Attendance is critical at all times during normal duty hours. Work outside of normal duty hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice. OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter. Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance. Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship. Must be able to obtain and retain unescorted access to work areas.
