The Task Force Chief Engineer is responsible for providing support at various Pacifica Hotels properties, filling open positions, and providing supplemental support for the engineering team as needed. The Task Force Chief Engineer will assist properties in providing oversight of the engineering team, completion of daily work orders, property reviews and the preventive maintenance program, as well as assisting the Facilities & Capital Improvement team with implementation and management of projects and activities when and where needed. This position requires up to 100% travel time.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
Adhere to Pacifica's Pure Stay guidelines to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our team members and guests.
Utilize Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and in accordance with property specific guidelines.
Communicate with guests/customers/internal staff to resolve maintenance issues with little to no supervision.
Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
Coordinate data collection and input for Preventive Maintenance tracking software and train team members on use of prescribed software for guest and internal ticketing and communication.
Be versed in Property Management System administration as it pertains to occupied and available guest rooms, Out of Order status and updating room statuses.
Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines.
Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and shut-offs for buildings.
Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Ensure each day's activities and problems that occur are communicated to the other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
Display proficiency in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and/or general building management.
Display solid knowledge and skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks.
Display basic ability to repair or replace both PVC and copper pipe (including soldering).
Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
Display working knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventative maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including devices that interact with such programs.
Display working knowledge of brand standard requirements for branded and independent hotels.
Display ability to interpret Quality Assurance reports and develop and implement action plans for correcting deficiencies and issues.
Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
Display the ability to train and mentor other engineers (e.g., Engineer I).
As needed, assist Director of Facilities with lower-level capital improvement projects through oversight of projects and contractors and upward reporting to supervisory staff.

Remain currently informed of all brand and independent programs, franchise requirements, and operating practices to provide necessary information and support to properties.

Operate in a fashion consistent with and foster a culture of safety.
Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of the position at any time.
Salary Range: $75-85,000/year
