Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for a Tank Construction Coordinator with extensive experience in steel tank fabrication and erection.

The position is responsible for ensuring that all civil work on the project is successfully executed and completed to high quality and safety standards.

As the successful candidate, you should have experience in EPC organizations working in the petrochemical industry on major projects and able to work as a client advisor.

U.S. Only: Authorization to work permanently in the U.S. without sponsorship required.

  • Ensure that Wood and client safety, health, and environment (HSE) programs are implemented and adhered to at all times

  • Act as technical advisor

  • Provide technical solutions and identifying solutions to project requirements

  • Coordinate the execution of civil design works by other affiliates to ensure compliance with project specifications and supervising production of civil and structural deliverables within time and budget

  • Check and comment deliverables for civil discipline

  • Check of drawings / models in accordance with Work Practices, standards and client standards

  • Receive engineering design information and instructions from Senior or Principal Civil Designer as applicable

  • Ensure that efficient and effective communications are maintained among the several offices involved, ensuring that all reporting requirements are met

  • Ensure that the operating center produces final civil deliverable drawings i.e. earthworks, piling, foundations, superstructures, underground services, paving and buildings inclusive of reinforcement detailing and reinforcement bending schedules where applicable. Drawings to be produced utilizing design sketches as provided by H.O. Civil Lead, if necessary, and extracted views from the 3D model. All drawings to be produced in accordance with client, corporate and national standards, specifications and procedures as applicable

  • Participate on Model Reviews as and when required

  • Establish strong rapport between all parties involved in project work and successfully manage the civil team and interfaces with other engineering disciplines

Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the engineering & construction industry Tanks

  • Extensive experience in heavy structural concrete, shoring and scaffolding in an industrial setting

  • Previous experience in a civil / structural engineering environment

  • Experience in EPC organizations in the refinery and petrochemical industries on major projects

  • Proven experience as Civil Coordinator, capable of leading a team of engineers and designers

  • Experience in discipline coordination / supervisory roles, preferably in PMC projects

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

  • Excellent knowledge of international standards and specifications

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment

VIEW JOBS 11/10/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-08T00:00 Requisition ID: 222541 PROJECT OVERVIEW Corpus Christi Liquefaction (CCL) Project is building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) train with Conoco Philips Cascade Process and related facilities on approximately 130ha site on the La Quinta Channel to the north-east of the Corpus Christi Bay in San Patricio County, Texas. The project is a multi-billion lump-sum turnkey contracts for the engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and startup of the plant: The construction (primarily direct hire) for Stage 2 is underway, which includes one LNG train 4.5MTPA, one additional 160,000 cubmic meters LNG storage tank, and the completion of the second berth. CCL was the first greenfield LNG export facility built in the United States in nearly 50 years. SUMMARY Support the Lead Planner to perform schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities as directed. Support planning and scheduling activities for Construction, including support project organizational and administrative activities, when delegated. Prepare progress report, produce schedule analysis and administer EPC schedule regular update. Position Duties/Responsibilities: The Construction Planner will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the project schedules utilizing Excel, Primavera, or Milestone Professional software. Detailed schedule development duties include determining the work activity duration and establishing the proper work flow logic ties for overall and individual departments (Engineering, Procurement, Subcontract, and Construction). Routine analysis and work-around option planning along with interface coordination with other departments at the jobsite. Other duties include providing input to the Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports, Short Term Work Plan, and issuance of the schedule analysis report. Assist in the maintenance of the Weekly Work Plans, Subcontractor Schedules, Weekly Quantity, Productivity and Progress Curves and updating of the Overall EPC Schedule. Job Related Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration * Verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis to Project Controls, Bechtel Management, Client Management and other groups * Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions, which include schedule development, control, and analysis is preferred * Proficiency in using several basic software applications including multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel.
