Summary Position:

  • Supports Procurement and Supply Chain Department and other departments operations by handling raw materials receiving, record, identification, storage, and issuances to production areas.

  • Supports QA Incoming by taking samples of raw materials for analysis.

  • Unloading / transfer of raw materials to storage vessels.

  • Performs all required inventory transactions entries on applicable inventory electronic systems.

  • Other tank farm area related tasks.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Receives, records, identifies, and stores chemical raw materials.

  • Performs physical inventory of chemical raw materials.

  • Performs inventory transactions entries in Baxter electronic inventory systems.

  • Provides support to Manufacturing and Quality Assurance areas for materials handling and approvals.

  • Performs chemical raw materials sampling for QA analysis/testing.

  • Performs basic mathematical operations.

  • Report machinery and/or equipment that is not working properly for area tasks.

  • Follows all Safety Plant Policies and SOP's.

  • Uses the proper and required Personal Protective Equipment for each task to be performed.

  • Prepare shipping documents for tank trucks return to return to suppliers.

  • Other tank farm area related tasks.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Understand written instructions in English language.

  • Able to work alone with minimum supervision.

  • DOT/HAZMAT Certified facilitated by Baxter after hiring.

  • Puerto Rico Police Department Explosives License facilitated by Baxter.

  • Must be able to work during weekends or off working hours.

Education:

Associate College Degree in Science or higher

Job Experience:

Essential

  • Minimum 1 years experience on pharmaceutical or chemical industry

Desirable

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in chemical plant.

Perform function to provide controls/automation technical support for facility operations and execution of capital project from initial concept to final closeout to support the capital project program. Identify and assist Sr. engineers in troubleshooting and problem solving manufacturing operations control systems/automation/instrumentation issues. Assist in the specifying, design and installation of process control systems in direct support of commercial and clinical manufacturing operations. Support the development of Preventive Maintenance Procedures for process control systems. Has working knowledge of broad, relevant engineering/technology principles and established methods. Apply originality to modify troubleshooting techniques and processes. These activities are done under general or moderate supervision. Independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria in making minor adaptations and modifications. Follow the engineering analytical method for the resolution of equipment and/or system problems across the Site as assigned or called upon by the operation. Plan and conduct small to medium size assigned projects requiring planning, investigation and/or equipment. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES * Concurrently oversee and coordinate small control systems projects / assignments in the support of site operations. Including but not limited to selecting and or participating in the selection of new control system equipment and instrumentation for capital projects assuring selected control systems meet all regulatory requirements including but not limited to 21 CFR Part 11 and all instrumentation is correct for the intended. Actively participate on the project start up and qualification process. * Identify and assist Sr. engineers in the troubleshooting and problem solving of manufacturing operations control systems / automation. Diagnose technical issues and provide recommendations/solutions for corrective actions. Uses programming software to configure and/or make modifications to automated systems and process control systems, following established Quality control systems (ie- Change Control System, CCR system, etc.) Review changes and assure appropriate documentation (Software Test Plans, User Requirements, System Design Document) are developed and on file. * Serve as system administrator for simple process control systems. Support the evaluation of process control changes to determine whether changes would qualify as capital projects or require software changes. * Support the development of Preventive Maintenance Procedures for process control systems including battery replacements, routine cleaning, and media storage purging. Maintain a library for vendor application software, back-up custom software application, and required hardware needed for troubleshooting and maintenance. * Provide technical assistance to site operating groups through investigations, control system assessments, and design support * Apply technical knowledge of the operation, troubleshooting, programming, and configuration of the process control systems and their connections to the following plant electrical, instrumentation, and manufacturing systems: motor control centers, E-power generator, variable speed drives, instrumentation, circuit breakers, loop controllers, HVAC controls, and related electrical/electronic equipment and devices. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Computer, Mechanical or Electrical) * B.S. in computer science or electronic * BS and 3 years * MS (related) and 1 year * Have single platform experience, basic PLC and SCADA, P&ID design, instrumentation * Experience and/or knowledge on PLC / Batch programming and systems PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Fully Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) * Licensed CIAPR preferred NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS * Traveling is required to the other PGM regions (occasionally) and among all PR locations as needed * Support may be required during non-regular working ours * Demonstrate knowledge in GMP, environmental, health and safety procedures to assure regulatory, policies and/or guidelines compliance. * Observe and notify any risk situation for the environment, health or safety.
