Talk Read Sing VISTA-UWGLV

All United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley AmeriCorps VISTA assignments will expand capacity towards population level goals across the region. UWGLV strives to create population level change in areas of education, food access, healthy aging and emergency services to ensure individuals who experience crisis have the supports they need to rebound.

The UWGLV VISTA project focuses on strengthening the networks of providers that deliver services to address concerns and through working with UWGLV staff they support the efforts across all four-issue areas. VISTAs address issues at the programmatic and system levels seeking to identify and deal with the root causes by utilizing the collective impact framework. Member Duties : The VISTA will support the continued implementation of our Talking is Teaching's Talk, Read, Sing Campaign - exploring expansion of outreach and focusing on large scale messaging to reach families. They will create engagement activities for the Lehigh Valley Early Childhood Coalition on topics of Talk, Read, Sing, kindergarten transition, early childhood public policy, and work towards a primary method of digital engagement.

The goal is for the VISTA's capacity building work to result in a natural synergy that is fully solidified, making it easier for partners and communities to participate in UWGLV early childhood education resources, rather than creating new strategies frequently when new organizations want to participate. For example, healthcare partners will have a field framework built out: any hospital, doctor's office, clinic, etc. will be presented with the strategies outlined with UWGLV's goals that is universal in this space. This position is based out of Allentown, PA.
