The WUSA9 Marketing Team is in search of a bold, creative, and curious person with strong social, digital, and brand management skills. You'll use your marketing and production skills to conceptualize, write, produce, shoot, and edit social media content, digital promotion, and brand/marketing messaging. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write, design, edit, and shoot creative that engage audiences where they are across platformssocial, digital, and on air

  • Create marketing for WUSA9's social accounts, website and app, streaming platforms, and cross-broadcast integrations

  • Place engaging native and targeted content on a variety of platforms including, but not limited to: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Roku, Hulu, internal CMS system and daily newsletter

  • Understand and employ metrics, research, and audience insights to drive strategic marketing decisions across platforms

  • Maintain WUSA9's overall look and brand on all platforms through strong visual identity

  • Collaborate across all departments with digital and broadcast content creators in news, marketing, sales, community partners, and clients

REQUIREMENTS

  • A. or B.S. with a minimum of 3+ years' hands-on experience in digital advertising, marketing, branding, or journalism

  • Excellent technical skills and an online reel/portfolio that shows excellent writing, video editing and social media skills

  • Proficient with Adobe Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop)

  • Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time-sensitive deadlines

  • Must be deadline-oriented, maintaining quality while staying on tight schedules and breaking news situations

  • Self-starter that is highly-motivated to make a positive impact

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team, to take direction, and to offer creative thoughts, ideas and suggestions in brainstorms and pitches

The Role TEGNA is looking for a self-motivated, dynamic, experienced, and remote social media contractor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience providing customer support and managing social media for top brands, media companies or agencies. They are passionate about social media, understand the value of customer service and strive to create outstanding results. This is a temporary and remote work role. Responsibilities * Schedule, publish and manage messaging across social media, with a focus on Facebook and Twitter, for dozens of brands * Support TEGNA stations during events that require real-time customer support and time-sensitive messaging * Respond to audience messages, comments and questions on social, email and text for TEGNA's brands * Help the TEGNA stay up to date with audience trends, sentiment analysis, and social media reporting * Work with internal stakeholders and vendors on automated messaging prompts, segmenting audience data, and any paid marketing * Collaborate with the corporate audience development team to execute community management best practices Requirements * Bachelor's degree in communications, PR, journalism or equivalent experience in the field * Two to three years in social media management or content marketing preferred * Experience managing social media for multiple brands * Strong understanding of various social platforms * Strong writing and communication skills * Experience with social media publishing tools like Sprout, Sprinklr and Buffer * Experience with automated messaging and chatbots * Experience fact-checking online and on social media preferred * Incredible eye for detail * Solid social media judgement * Self-starter capable of working productively and remotely * Ability to work outside of normal business hours About TEGNA TEGNA Inc.
