The Talent Management Director has the critical responsibility for shaping and executing our strategy across talent acquisition, development, engagement, and retention.

The incumbent will collaborate with our leaders, in partnership with the HR organization, to understand the business and workforce needs to develop and deploy programs that unleash the full potential of our associates. This starts with building Avient's employer brand to attract the best and brightest talent. Working with the learning and development team, this role will continue to enhance and facilitate our global programs, focused on sharpening leadership skills at all levels of the organization. Leveraging these aspects and expanding on our certified Great Place to Work culture will help retain our talented associates.

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, this individual will interact and influence at all levels of the organization, to ensure the company is taking care of our associates in a way that is innovative, collaborative, and effective with a diversity and inclusion lens.

Essential Functions

  • Partners with the Diversity & Inclusion Advancement Director to ensure a D&I lens is applied to the entire employee life cycle. Takes into account cultural differences around the world to apply global programs with local focus.

  • Identifies the best avenues to hire top talent with focuses on early talent and emerging markets. Directly manages the US and Canadian talent acquisition team with recruiting expertise shared across all international markets

  • Expands Avient's recognition as an employer of choice for all by partnering with corporate communications and marketing to enhance our employer brand

  • Drives Avient's leadership development programs, inclusive of preparing executives to deliver content, assessing program learning objectives and enhancing content aligned to the organization's core competencies, values and cultural journey

  • Assesses shifting needs for leaders to be successful in the organization and deploying content that can enable success and support business needs

  • Leads organizational development initiatives, programs, and processes. Subject matter expert in workforce planning, organizational development, and associated tools to drive holistic thinking on talent. Expertise leveraged in global initiatives to ensure successful and effective business outcomes

  • Drives career development and succession planning processes utilizing our HR platform to support leaders for top talent associates to have individual development plans in place.

  • Conducts and/or identifies resources and tools to elevate the organization and implements globally

  • Hosts enter of expertise on our Great Place to Work culture; providing best practices and tools to support leaders in driving a positive employee experience in their teams

  • Other duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience and Skills to be Successful

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree with a strong passion for developing people

  • Must have strong critical thinking skills

  • Must be able to analyze data effectively to "tell the story" behind the information

  • Must be able to multitask with strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Must be comfortable in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) with the ability to convey materials & data in a modern and visual manner

  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to work in a team environment

  • The ideal candidate will thrive in fast-paced environments, will be able to balance a high workload, and will excel at cultivating the best from their team members

  • Must have good leadership and influence skills to be seen as a partner to the business

  • Must be outgoing, high energy, and enjoy frequent interaction with others

  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to work in a team environment

  • Experience as a trainer / facilitator is a plus

  • Must be able to travel as required for execution of the essential functions of the position

Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security (EHS&S) Requirements
