JOB TITLE: Talent Development Lead/Trainer


REPORTS TO (Title): Chief People Officer


Organizes and conducts trainings and institutional programs in coordination with employee development. This requires excellent presentation and communication skills as the Trainer will work with employees in all regions (Los Angeles, Orange County and Antelope Valley) to leading trainings and practices related to developing high performing teams. The Trainer must be knowledgeable, engaging, accountable, confident, proactive, authentic and passionate.


Confers with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

Coordinates training schedule with the hiring and training demands of the department.

Formulates teaching outline and determine instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials and reference works.

Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.

Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training.

Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods.

Assists employees with problems concerning "how to" perform specific tasks related to their positions.

Makes suggestions on improving work procedures

Maintains trainee personnel records.

Develops strong relationships with internal customers to develop course materials and receive feedback.

Perform other related duties as assigned.


Work Experience

  • 1-3 years relevant experience

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience


  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus but not required

  • Super outgoing, friendly personality - unflappable

  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and priorities; flexible

  • Creative, enthusiastic, reliable and results-oriented

  • Proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Prezzi and E-training

This position reports directly to the claims training manager. The trainer will work with the training manager concerning the application of employee education and development programs to meet business needs. This position will ensure Claims Business Unit and Corporate standards are met and process improvements are initiated and institutionalized. This position requires a thorough understanding of claims knowledge and claims process, as well as an understanding of Claims customer satisfaction. The trainer is also required to perform all tasks in a manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.<br /> <br /> <strong>Principal Duties & Responsibilities:</strong><br /> The following is a summary of the primary responsibilities of the position. <ul> <li>Create training materials, delivery methods and development programs for employees in alignment with the Claims unit and company strategy and standards.</li> <li>Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, lectures and the like.</li> <li>Schedule classes based on availability of classrooms, equipment, instructors, and other resources.</li> <li>Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials.</li> <li>Make recommendations to management specific training programs to help employees maintain or improve job skills.</li> <li>Monitor, measure, evaluate and record training activities and program effectiveness.</li> <li>Evaluate training materials such as outlines, presentations, and handouts for continuous improvement.</li> <li>Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.</li> <li>Monitor training costs to ensure budget is not exceeded, and justify expenditures.</li> <li>Keep up with developments in area of training content and delivery methodologies to keep us current if not cutting edge in our offerings.</li> <li>Participate in curriculum design and development specific to courses you are leading.
