POSITION: Talent Acquisition Intern
TIMEFRAME: May to August 2019 (start date and hours worked are flexible)
REPORTS TO: Manager of Talent Acquisition
POSITION TYPE: Unpaid Internship (may be eligible for Class Credit)
LOCATION: Houston, Texas
YES Preps Talent team believes in creating learning opportunities for college students who want to gain experience in Human Resources through applied skills. In this role you will play an integral role in everyday programming by working in partnership with the Talent team to provide exceptional support for our future and current YES Prep employees through all stages of the employment process by creating and streamlining the structures and systems that assist us in recruiting and selecting exceptional talent.
The right person for this internship is eager to learn more about the Talent function by being an active participant in the day-to-day processes and projects!
Up to 2 spots are available and will require the completion of a confidentiality agreement due to data access points required with the role.
When you join YES Preps Talent team, some of the exciting work will include:
Working in YES Preps Applicant Tracking System (ATS), Clear Company
Creating handbook resources for the Talent Acquisition Team
Attending University Career Fairs and YES Prep Interview Events
Cultivating and communicating with candidates
Conducting reference checks for selected candidates
Shadowing team members as they conduct candidate cultivation calls, review applicants, record data, and more!
To put it simply, the Talent Intern will have a front row seat to talent work in one of Houstons top school districts. An ideal candidate would be a college student seeking real world experience or a professional with an interest in acquiring Talent experience to prepare for a new career.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Strong writing skills
Ability to learn new systems and programs quickly and efficiently
Demonstrated ability to work on a team
Eager to dive into the Talent field (this internship will be largely recruitment & selection work as we prepare for 19-20)
Leadership experience at the college or professional level
