Talent Acquisition Specialist

Hybrid or Remote (in proximity to a Walker office) with priority for Kalamazoo/Portage, MI | Tampa, FL | Houston East, TX | Indianapolis, IN

We're on the hunt for a creative and collaborative Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our dynamic HR team at Walker Consultants, a 100% employee-owned firm leading the industry in planning, design, engineering, forensics, restoration, and building envelope consulting since 1965.

Your Role at Walker

Your role will be pivotal in identifying, attracting, and securing top talent to drive our company's growth. Working closely with hiring managers and your fellow recruiters, you'll bring your ideas and enthusiasm to the role, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for all candidates and successful hires into our teams. Creativity is a valuable tool for success in this role, allowing you to think outside the box and craft innovative strategies to attract top talent and enhance the candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Source, engage, and attract candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, social media, and networking events.

  • Maintain a strong talent pipeline for current and future hiring needs.

  • Review resumes, conduct initial phone screens, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.

  • Evaluate candidate qualifications, cultural fit, and potential for success within our organization.

  • Implement effective strategies to attract top-tier talent.

  • Recruit a diverse workforce to enrich our company culture.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and team dynamics.

  • Develop recruitment marketing strategies, create job advertisements, and enhance our employer brand through social media and career fairs.

  • Utilize technology platforms to enhance recruiting efforts, such as: Canva, TikTok, Lever ATS, etc.

  • Ensure clear and timely communication to provide a positive candidate experience.

  • Monitor and report key performance indicators like time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate satisfaction.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, labor laws, and best practices in talent acquisition.

  • Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Participate in other projects as assigned and attend off-site Walker conferences as needed.

Qualifications

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.

Other Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of HR experience, with at least 1 year of sourcing experience using LinkedIn Recruiter. A/E/C industry or technical role experience preferred.

  • Proven success in sourcing qualified candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple recruiting priorities in a highly dynamic environment and to work with flexibility, efficiency, and diplomacy both individually and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness. Persistent. Results oriented. Creative mindset.

  • Proficient in the use of recruiting technology and LinkedIn.

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Committed to representing the firm in a professional, ethical manner, upholding Walker's reputation in the industry.

Salary Range: Base salary ranges from $60,000 to $70,000 annually + bonus, depending on experience. Total financial compensation resulting from a performance bonus can increase your earning potential.
