Shermco U.S. is seeking a Talent Acquisition Specialist
JOB SUMMARY:
The Talent Acquisition Specialist will establish, build and maintain a talent pipeline and assist managers in recruiting and hiring great talent to meet the Company's current and future workforce needs. This recruiter will work specifically with our group in Canada.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Source, build and maintain great relationships with active and passive talent to build a talent pipeline.
Actively recruit and screen candidates to fill current and expected job vacancies.
Learn, use and manage effective sourcing techniques and tools
Stay in regular contact with active candidates to keep them engaged and informed throughout the interview and selection process; notify candidates of their continued consideration or rejection.
Follow established policies and procedures to obtain approvals for personnel requisitions.
Work with hiring managers to develop a targeted recruiting plan for approved job openings.
Create well-written job postings and advertisements that communicate the requirements and expectations of the open positions as well as promote Shermco as a great career opportunity.
Post job openings on company ATS & website, and approved job boards.
Document and maintain good notes on all recruiting & selection steps for each candidate in the company's applicant tracking system (ATS).
Identify, recommend and attend appropriate job fairs that would lead to qualified candidates.
Maintain at least weekly contact with Hiring Managers and Director of HR to identify hiring priorities, and ensure that the recruiting process is effectively moving forward.
Conduct appropriate professional reference and coordinate pre-employment background checks and post-offer drug screens on selected candidates.
Prepare and obtain approval of offer letters from management and submit approved offers to candidates; follow-up with offered candidates to keep them engaged, overcome any objections and obtain their acceptance.
Other duties as assigned to help the organization be successful.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY
Education and Experience
High School diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred.
A minimum of 5-7 years of similar experience, including corporate or agency recruiting.
Experience full-life cycle recruiting for technical and industrial roles, highly preferred.
Relevant certifications and training a plus.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE RECRUITING WITHIN CANADA
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements
Requires knowledge of great sourcing, and recruitment practices and regulatory considerations.
Requires ability to stay organized, multi-task and plan priorities.
Must be able to work at a fast pace, with competing demands for time.
Familiarity with using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
Strong working knowledge of internet browsers and current versions of Microsoft Office.
Ability to listen, understand and interpret the needs of managers and candidates.
Must be comfortable making and receiving a high volume of phone calls each day
Positive, service-oriented attitude and easily approachable.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
The responsibilities of this position require certain physical and sensory abilities, which must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be able to hear and speak clearly.
Ability to use hands and fingers on a keyboard and use a mouse.
Ability to clearly see and view the details of words, tables and images on a computer screen for long periods of time.
