Job Location:
Dulles, VA 

Clearance Requirements: U.S. citizenship required, with the ability and willingness to obtain U.S. Government clearance if not currently held. Active TS/SCI clearance preferred. 

Job Summary: 

Become a vital member of our dynamic team as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, contributing significantly to shaping our workforce. Northstrat, an employee-owned and rapidly expanding company, is actively seeking a Recruiter/Sourcer with a demonstrated history of successfully recruiting elusive, qualified candidates holding active U.S. Government security clearances. We are seeking an individual who excels in the challenge of identifying the ideal candidate, appreciates seeing the tangible results of their efforts, and enjoys working in a rewarding environment. 

 Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Candidate Sourcing: Proactively identify and engage potential candidates through various channels, including job search engines like ClearanceJobs, social media, and professional networks like LinkedIn and GitHub. 
  • Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with candidates, colleagues, and external partners to create a strong talent pipeline. 
  • Job Posting and Screening: Post job openings, screen resumes, and assess candidate resumes to ensure a match with the organization's requirements. 
  • Interviewing: Conduct thorough and insightful initial interviews to evaluate candidates' cultural fit. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, create requisitions, and develop effective recruitment strategies. 
  • Networking: Attend industry events, job fairs, and networking sessions to promote the organization and attract potential candidates. 
  • Data Management: Utilize Workable applicant tracking systems (ATS) to maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information throughout the recruitment process. 
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal and company policies in the recruitment process, including diversity and equal opportunity principles. 
  • Leadership: Organize and direct other recruiters/sourcers as available. 

Requirements

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience: Three or more years of proven experience in recruiting and sourcing. Proficiency in using Workable applicant tracking system or other recruiting tools. Familiarity with relevant employment laws and regulations. 
  • Soft Skills: Proficient in both oral and written communication. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Robust customer service, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills. 
  • Education and Certifications: Hold at least a bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. Certifications in Human Resources or Talent Acquisition would be advantageous.

Flex Time

Northstrat does not mandate specific working hours. Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month. For example: John worked 12 hours on June 1st to meet a project deadline. On June 15th, John only worked 4 hours because he left early for a long weekend. John’s IBA was not debited for time off because flex time allowed him to carry over those 4 hours from June 1st.

Individual Benefits Account (IBA)

The purpose of the IBA is to provide attractive benefits to all full-time employees of Northstrat on a flexible basis that enables each covered employee to select a package that best suits his or her needs. IBA Benefits accrue each month in the amount equivalent to 50% of the employee’s monthly compensation rate. That is, the effective dollar amount of this accrual is in addition to an employee’s salary.

Profit Sharing Plan (PSP)

The PSP is a qualified retirement plan that Northstrat funds semi-annually on the employee’s behalf through the IBA in the amount equivalent to 25% (up to the IRS contribution limit) of the employee’s compensation. That is, of the 50% accrual in the IBA, half of the amount accrued is applied to the PSP.

Stock Options

Because Northstrat is an employee-owned company, all new employees are offered stock options. Employees have the opportunity to receive additional stock options based on accomplishment of individual performance goals. Stock owners elect the Board of Directors and are directly impacted by the success of the company.
