The Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for Johnson Matthey's full cycle recruiting across all sectors in North America. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop and implement strategic initiatives for recruiting diverse, world-class talent for multiple business units to support current and forecasted organizational talent management strategies. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will attract new and energized talent into the organization and promote career opportunities internally and externally while modeling Johnson Matthey's core values and mission.
Develop, implement, and evaluate innovative, proactive, and responsive sourcing strategies to attract diverse and high quality candidates; pursue passive candidates using available methods; and ensure internal promotion and development are considered prior to external search.
Build and maintain a quality candidate sourcing pipeline for key positions and proactive growth.
Partner with hiring managers, business leaders and HR to understand, evaluate and clarify business and staffing needs, both current and future. Build confidence and credibility with hiring managers. Establish position descriptions, competencies, candidate profiles, and required timeframes.
Manage the recruiting process from start to finish: securing executive approvals for requisitions; creating and posting jobs; sourcing internal and external candidates; screening candidates, managing applicant pool through applicant tracking system (ATS); scheduling interviews (which could include making travel arrangements); administering employment tests, conducting reference checks; proposing salary recommendations, extending offers; handling pre-employment background, drug, and physical screenings.
Continuously monitor general staffing progress against open requisitions to determine alternate recruitment avenues to support the business. Actively source resumes through available means to generate robust talent pool.
Effectively screen and interview potential candidates for functional compliance, applicable background, relevant skills, individual goals and overall fit within the company; present candidate synopsis and recommendations to hiring managers.
Assist hiring managers in selection decision; initiate and drive job offer process and secure acceptance. Negotiate compensation and benefits; finalize offers to candidates; coordinate on-boarding.
Work closely with outside sources (trade associations, colleges, vocational schools, job service organizations) in recruiting applicants; research and develop partnerships with staffing vendors; utilize when necessary.
Collaborate and partner with other Johnson Matthey sites on talent acquisition planning and initiatives.
Research and stay abreast of recruiting trends, candidate sourcing including social media, and best practices.
Continually strive to improve recruitment processes and strategies. Monitor employment laws and policies, hiring processes, and make recommendations for change as needed. Provide information and training to hiring managers.
Prioritize when presented with a long list of 'top priority' situations.
Manage the ATS system make sure that data is fully up-to-date for maximum effectiveness.
Track, report, and measure key metrics designed to measure and predict staffing activity and retention. Compile and produce monthly reports.

Are you the ideal candidate?
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of five years of full cycle talent acquisition experience.
Experience implementing full cycle talent acquisition processes and procedures for a variety of positions with proven background in developing and executing effective sourcing strategies, including sourcing passive candidates.
Strong business acumen, client support orientation, influencing and negotiating skills; able to establish credibility and rapport with all levels of management.
Driven to successful outcomes, adaptive in times of change, and innovative in face of roadblocks
Knowledge of Affirmative Action, EEO guidelines on employee selection and employee relations issues relative to the recruitment process
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build rapport and relationships easily, even with hard-to-reach passive candidates and with upper levels of leadership.
Strong ATS experience, including sourcing, tracking and managing candidates (Taleo knowledge a plus)
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
High level of initiative, self-motivation, and sense of urgency with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Excellent organizational skills
Experience generating reports from HRIS.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook)
