Job Summary

  • May manage one or more functions within HR.

  • Manages the work of HR professionals and acts as advisor to operations.

  • Provides support to a director within a district.

  • As a senior manager, establishes operational objectives and work plans, delegates assignments to subordinate managers.

  • Reviews objectives to determine success of operation.

  • Develops, modifies, executes company polices that affect immediate operations and may have company-wide effect.

  • Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.

  • Implements strategic policies when selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Erroneous decisions will result in critical delay in schedules and/or operations and may jeopardize overall business activities.

  • Manages activities of two or more groups or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing.

  • In some instances, may be responsible for managing staff function and may not have subordinate managers.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with HR Operations.

Presstran\'s lines of automotive stampings and welding assemblies are used in front motor compartments, underbody structures, truck frame components and front and rear suspensions as well as non-automotive applications. Job Introduction The Program Buyer is responsible for the sourcing and management of prototype tooling, production tooling, assembly capital, direct buy and purchased components. The Program Buyer works integrally with the Presstran Engineering and Quality Teams in order to ensure successful launches of new products and tools. The incumbent creates, distributes, collects, and recommends all program related suppliers in conjunction with the best overall business case Major Responsibilities 1.Develops and executes effective bidding, negotiation, pricing strategies and supplier recommendations to provide Presstran Industries with the best value in the market place for the dollars spent in a manner that meets the budgets, policies, ethical standards and audit requirements of Presstran Industries.2.Supports on time delivery to help timely program completion, and help maximize profits.3.Develop and implement cost saving initiatives.4.Conducts activities in Solarsoft iVP and other Information Systems to support purchasing 5.Drives/participates in Supplier Development to establish solid multiple sources to ensure continuous supply and availability of purchased components 6.Participates in design reviews in conjunction with Design, Tooling and Quality Engineers in order for the verification and validation of technical requirements to ensure the successful launch of new products and tools.7.Ensures successful and timely implementation of approved engineering changes by closure of all commercial issues with suppliers8.Ensures Solarsoft iVP pricing modules have been maintained accurately and accordingly9.Prepares, negotiates and executes all contract terms and conditions according to Presstran Industries policies and procedures, and in accordance with government regulations10.Exercises ample expertise and flexibility to procure all emergency requirements in cooperation with requisitioning departments and other supporting segments in the organization to ensure project completion11.Communicates effectively with all requisitioning departments, and arranges for proper and accurate information exchanges between originator and suppliers12.Ensures that all applicable GST and Provincial Tax Exemptions are claimed to the advantage of Presstran Industries13.Reconciles variances between Purchase Orders and Invoices (Price, Quantity, Free On Board (F.O.B.), Inco terms, Terms of Payment)14.Reviews Trade Bulletins on a regular basis to provide awareness of market trends15.Ensures purchase orders are entered in a timely manner16.Supports the Supplier Development Engineer with supplier audits of applicable suppliers as required17.Maintains/processes claim in QPF in timely manner. Ensure all costs are captured in claims.18.Resolves material claims with suppliers outside QPF (eg: resale)19.Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.20.Supports and models the Presstran's operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and "How We Work Together", Magna Employee's Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.21.Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (e.g. ISO/IATF-16949, ISO14001). Knowledge and Education 1.Post-secondary Degree/Diploma in Business Administration and/or Supply Chain Management. Engineering experience/background would be a definite asset.2.Three (3) to five (5) years supply chain experience.3.Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, Solarsoft IVP).
