ROLE SUMMARY

The Talent Acquisition Lead (TAL) for Worldwide Research, Development and Medical (WRDM) and Global Product Development (GPD) is responsible globally for the sourcing of high quality, diverse, qualified candidates for all roles within the client groups. The TAL will manage a large Talent Acquisition team focused on full life cycle recruitment and direct sourcing, comprised of full-time employees and contract resources (as well as contract resources as required), aligned to support the business units. They will develop a global talent acquisition strategy for their client groups that meet the needs of those businesses. They will have direct responsibility for all direct sourcing, talent acquisition, internal hiring processes and administration within their client group in the USA, and a matrix responsibility for EX US providing centralized support as defined by the global TA leadership team

The TAL will be responsible for all legal and compliance adherence in their client area. This role will also have responsibility for spearheading Diversity recruiting strategies for Pfizer across all TA teams to ensure consistent approach

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with senior level clients within the WRDM, GPD, Medical, and Chief Patient Office groups as well as the HR Leads supporting those leadership teams, to will build a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to deliver the resources required by the business.

  • Develop a workforce plan with the business and HR Leads to identify future talent needs and build programs to support that plan.

  • Direct responsibility for the TA team in the US, and a matrix responsibility for the global TA activity undertaken for businesses. This includes providing management direction to the regional and country TA teams, building their business expertise and knowledge.

  • Work with the Global Science HR Team to oversee executive recruitment for the Global Science organizations, including management and optimization of relationship with niche, external firms

  • The TAL will develop a deep understanding of the business they are supporting, understanding the strategic priorities of that business and the talent required to deliver the operating plan in the current and future years.

  • TAL's will develop a specific Employee Value Proposition (EVP) for their business that is aligned to the global Pfizer EVP

  • Working with talent management, develop an external talent pool for strategic roles and specific scarce skill areas identified by the business.

  • Develop a strong relationship with the clients and maintain close and regular contact with the client to ensure continued alignment and monitor progress to plan.

  • Identify talent acquisition issues and develop corrective action plans quickly and communicate transparently with the business and HR clients.

  • Build a resourcing strategy and plan that prioritizes the resourcing needs and deploy TA resources with the skills and capabilities required to deliver that plan.

  • Responsible for the continued development of the team and management of the budget.

  • Seek to continually improve the effectiveness of the team and its delivery against plan ensuring we deploy technology and process improvements continually to reduce costs, improve the quality and decreases time to hire.

  • Lead senior level hiring activity

  • Interface with university recruiting activity, including advanced degrees to identify the most appropriate use of university recruitment to the business.

  • Partner with Diversity recruiting to integrate diversity into the staffing process and ensure diverse candidate slates

  • Develop metrics that support the business objectives and maintain close monitoring and reporting for the purposes of TA improvements.

  • Share best practice across the TA function and share resources to achieve the goals of the wider business as needed.

  • Where requirements of the business go beyond the agreed levels the TAL will provide the business with costed options for the business to provide additional funding.

  • Responsible for the allocation of work within the team including when to use direct sourcing or external search organizations and building a network of external agencies to provide cost effective and efficient support to the business.

  • Develop a culture of ownership and accountability with a high emphasis on Client and candidate satisfaction

  • Lead/Participate in projects across the global TA and HR organization

  • Build a robust pipeline of candidates with suitable qualifications and experience in the scientific/medical arena

  • Champion Diversity Recruiting efforts across all teams in partnership with TOPS to improve diversity slates and hires across all businesses and regions: outreach efforts and collaborations, partnerships with Colleague Resource Groups (CRGs), targeted campaigns

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Talent Acquisition or HR with at least 5 years of managerial experience and with at least 5 years of experience managing a recruiting team for a science-focused organization/business

  • Preferred candidate will have a good Scientific/Medical education and an understanding of how to identify candidates and present roles.

  • Experience with managing in a client facing role with high levels of customer service

  • Demonstrated ability to manage resources and workload in a complex environment

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Demonstrated experience of working successfully in a highly regulated and compliance led environment

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with HR and Business leaders and experience of developing a TA strategy and plan.

  • Strong leadership, exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • A good understanding of technology and innovative solutions within the TA environment

  • Ability to lead matrixed, cross-functional work teams across multiple regions, cultures etc.

  • In-depth understanding and experience with sourcing, talent processes, talent assessment, and metrics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 years' experience within HR or TA in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Degree in Life Sciences

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Periodic travel between Pfizer's sites, mainly in the northeastern part of the United States.

The Role Korn Ferry is seeking a Global Director Life Sciences- Talent Acquisition will directly partner with our Key Stakeholder at the client site based in Cambridge, MA. The Global Director of Life Science will contribute to Korn Ferry growth and profitability goals by delivering best in class recruitment services to our client. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of the project and scope to include oversight and support of the customized RPO solution. The aim of the role is to ensure the quality assurance of the project delivered to our client. Key Accountabilities * Create and execute project work plans using the Project Toolkit and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Ensure search requests are clearly defined to include key responsibilities, requirements, reporting structure, compensation and interview process. * Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.
