As the Talent Acquisition and Engagement Specialist, your role will not only drive our recruitment life cycles but will also ensure that every member of our community experiences a seamless and engaging onboarding journey. This role is an exciting opportunity for a charismatic professional to foster an inclusive environment and actively support the growth and development of all employees, regardless of background or identity.

As part of the recruitment process, you will:

Oversee end-to-end recruitment processes, from job requisition to candidate selection ensuring compliance with federal, state, SUNY and campus policies, procedures, and laws. Collaborate with hiring managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure our recruitment and onboarding efforts align seamlessly with staffing needs, and organizational goals.

Employ creative sourcing strategies to attract top talent. Foster strong relationships with external partners, including recruitment agencies and educational institutions.

In managing the orientation and onboarding of new employees, you will:

Develop and implement comprehensive onboarding programs for new employees, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Coordinate orientation sessions to ensure that every new hire is introduced our culture, benefits, and policies.

Conduct regular evaluations of the onboarding program to identify areas for improvement and enhancement. Act as a friendly guide for our new team members, offering support and answering questions throughout their onboarding journey. Provide backup support to the Benefits Specialist while keeping informed of changes in benefits policies to communicate with employees.

As a collaborative member of the team, you will:

Foster strong partnerships with vendors and external partners. Generate reports and supply data on searches, hired candidates, and applicants.

Partner with the Chief Diversity Officer to implement practices for connecting employees within our community. Dedicate time to workshops and webinars and travel to conferences.

To assist with campus wide training, you will:

Manage the college's mandatory training programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop engaging training materials and resources.

Share your expertise by providing training to hiring managers, empowering them with effective recruitment practices and compliance knowledge. Track and report on employee training progress, ensuring completion within specified timelines.

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:

2 years of experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, marketing, communications, higher education recruitment/retention or other engagement/relationship management related role. Exceptional communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and presentation skills with a dynamic, engaging demeanor.

Detail oriented with a focus on delivering a positive employee experience. Innovative problem solving skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Optimistic mindset and encouraging disposition

Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field SHRM/PHR certification Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and benefits administration. Cross-cultural competency, including a record of working successfully with diverse backgrounds.

Proven experience in talent acquisition, onboarding, and training program management. Demonstrated work experience within higher education, branding, content marketing, relationship building, analytics, search engine optimization, event management/marketing skills
