SOS Security is hiring Tactical Security Officers in Sioux Falls South Dakota!

Tactical Officers must be available at all times and are often called upon on short notice! SOS Security Tactical Officers represent a standard of excellence, too stand post in emergency situations, when additional coverage is needed, for specialized details, or at client request! The overall responsibilities are patrolling and secure assigned premises, as well as identifying risks to staff and patrons! This a very demanding yet rewarding role. Shift: All

Pay wage: $13.50

Job Duties:

  • Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and

  • Greet employees and guest daily.

  • Notify employees of guest via web mail or phone

  • ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.

  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.

  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.

  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.

  • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours as designated by client.

Education, License, and Certification

  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Should be at least 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law

  • Required to be authorized to work in the United States

  • A valid driver's license with clean driving history required, (only for jobs with car)


  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

  • Must be able to pass Drug Screening

  • Must be able to pass Background Check

  • Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities: Enforces security, traffic, and parking policies and procedures * Makes regular interior and exterior patrols of Boys Town properties/buildings by walking and/or utilizing tour tracking systems to ensure security and safety standards are met and maintained as directed by local policy, post orders, and applicable regulations. Checks all key stations and other designated areas to detect security violations.Secures doors and windows and monitors for intruders and other unusual conditions. * Observes and reports maintenance needs. Investigates and reports incidents involving personal injury, property damage, theft, and/or vandalism occurring on property or areas under jurisdiction and completes the designated reports. * Investigates security alarms and fire alarms. Executes evacuation plans, and assists staff and guests to shelter in the event of severe weather warnings. * Renders routine security assistance to all personnel, i.e., employees, patients and visitors. Responds to emergency calls, to include Code 10s in the PRTF, by utilizing the nationally recognized personal restraint training model for assistance and taking the appropriate actions. Confronts unauthorized personnel. Maintains building security while providing administrative and reception support. * Maintains building access by greeting visitors and completing check in procedures to ensure that security procedures are followed, and that visitors are familiar with and adhere to visitor procedures. * Acts as a point-of-contact for building maintenance and housekeeping issues and ensures professional appearance of lobby and reception area. Assists with keeping the property entrances free of trash. Performs snow removal, as needed. Enforces the 'Tobacco Free' Campus policy. Required Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Six months to one year of experience including administrative work experience. * Minimum of one year experience in Security, Military, or Law Enforcement, preferred. * A valid driver's license, with a favorable driving record. * Ability to work rotating shifts; including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. * Ability to complete and maintain certification in the nationally recognized personal restraint training model (SCM) within 60 days of hire. * Ability to complete and maintain BLS (CPR) certification. * Ability to work at multiple Boys Town property locations. * Must be 21 years of age.
