About the job: The Employee will help manager, assist, the prioritize modernization and sustainment of the Air Operation Center (AOC) Weapon System (WS). The Employee will work within the AOC A5M, branch to collaborate with senior leaders, operators, and maintainers to clarify and inform the agile software development activity. The employee will assist the branch collect and develop, documents, and advocates for programmatic and budgetary requirements supporting Component Numbered Air Forces missions
Needed Skills:
Require two (2) years' experience within the past ten (10) years performing C2 data links operations.
Require demonstrated knowledge of tactical radios, gateway terminals, and various systems and waveforms used in AOC operations within a Joint Interface Control Cell.
Require demonstrated knowledge in data links and fixed formatted message military standards, data link operations, strategic theater planning, and operational employment of air power.
Desire seven (7) or more years' experience within the past ten (10) years performing C2 data links operations.

While the majority of work is directly in support of LaRC, otherindustry partners and Government agencies may be supported at remote sites asdirected by the Contracting Officer (CO). The Center Maintenance, Operations,and Engineering (CMOE) contract comprises of three major categories of work –operations, maintenance, and engineering (OME), as described below.•Maintenance – Research and institutional facility maintenance includes, butnot limited to, preventive maintenance, trouble calls, repairs, ReliabilityCentered Maintenance (RCM), Facility Condition Assessment (FCA), andmaintenance/operation of central utilities (e.g., electrical powerdistribution, potable water, storm water drainage) •Operations – FacilitiesOperations support includes, but not limited to, wind tunnels, laboratories,and test stands testing, instrumentation calibration/repair; plant andutilities (e.g., high pressure air, Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) and Steam Plant);technology development and administration, including, but not limited to,Facility Automation Systems (FAS) and Data Acquisition Systems (DAS)•Engineering – Facility engineering includes, but not limited to, engineeringstudies, design, construction, construction management, configurationmanagement, tactical engineering, pressure system recertification, projectmanagement/planning support. Responsibilities: * Coordinate and communicate with internal and external customers as part of a research support team, to determine/capture test specific data acquisition requirements * Ensure Data Acquisition System (DAS) availability and communicate system status with the test team * Support configuration of test specific instrumentation and operation of the DAS following existing work instructions * Convert acquired data into Engineering Unit specific information as specified by Test Engineers and ensure timely delivery of validated data to the customer * Develop an understanding of the DAS and data reduction software to make recommendations for software enhancements to improve reliability and performance, and increase functionality * Monitor backups of all DAS associated systems on a regular basis as directed * Work schedule is generally Monday through Friday during days but will vary depending on test scheduling and will include second shift work should customer require testing beyond the scheduled work week U.S.Citizenship is required. Minimumof two (2) years college or vocational training in area of specialty plusfourteen (14) years relevant experience, or any equivalent combination ofeducation/experience for a total of sixteen (16) years. Demonstrate leadership ability and good communicationskills required. Must be able to obtain a secret clearance. * Experience in Wind Tunnel Systems Operations or Test Measurement Systems * Experience with various Unix / Linux platforms and Microsoft OSs, and familiarity with various programming languages such as LabVIEW, MATLAB, Fortran, C, C , and Java * Experience in configuration management * Strong mathematics, mechanical or electrical background EssentialFunctions: Work Environment Office environment. (50-65%) Test/Industrial Environment – May be exposed toareas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals andindustrial facilities. Travel between facilities and test sites is required andmay bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipmentoperation. Physical Requirements: Potential exposure to high noise levels,hazardous chemicals, propellants and the like. Appropriate PPE and trainingwill be provided for all conditions. Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twistand sit for extended periods as well as climb various heights, crawl in confinedspaces, and lift up to 35 lbs.
