Job Description
As part of the Business Intelligence team, this person is responsible for installation, configuration and administration of the Tableau server and client applications. Duties will include establishing best practice methodologies for the administration of the Tableau & MicroStrategy. This position involves the design and development of the BI/Tableau data infrastructure, data source creation, security (user access), change control of Tableau objects and overall Tableau support.
Development experience in the Tableau environment is required.
Qualification
Minimum 3 years of Tableau Server administration
Minimum 3 years of MicroStrategy Administration
Minimum 5 years of Windows Server administration
Experience with Citrix and Citrix virtual desktop environment
Development experience in the Tableau environment
Excellent understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Load Balancer and Network firewall
Experience configuring Single Sign-on (SSO) with SAML authentication
Proficient in Tableau command line utility
Good understanding of database concepts including writing SQL statements
Nice to have knowledge of SAS environment and administration experience
Experience with Jira in managing tasks and good understanding of Agile process
Strong troubleshooting skills
Must be able to obtain necessary security clearance
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, related fields or equivalent work experience required
Linux, UNIX Admin experience is plus

Responsibilities
Perform installation, migration and upgrade of Tableau Servers and Desktops under High Availability scenario
Perform performance analysis of existing Tableau Servers and make Best Practice recommendations
Perform day to day administration of Tableau Servers in Citrix environment:
manage sites and projects
configure and manage project permissions
provide periodic reports on Tableau Server usage
publish Tableau workbooks and data extracts
Configure and maintain Active Directory integration with Tableau Server
Configure and troubleshoot Single Sign On (SSO) issues for Tableau Server
Provide 2nd tier support to user community on various Tableau Server and Desktop issues
Create Tableau related Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Perform as a backup SAS administrator

Working with our modern, highly available fault-tolerant technology, this position requires knowledge of large-scale computing environments and best practices for applying technology to support the needs of students, faculty, and staff. The Senior DevOps Systems Administrator supports the cross-disciplinary communities of infrastructure, operations, and developers, fostering collaboration and rapid progress while perusing further evolution of our DevOps agile lifecycle. The focus is on building resilient systems that scale, while supporting the design, development, and deployment of web-based services across the University. This position has duties that include working with physical computer hardware in the data center as well as virtualization solutions from the desktop. This is a highly technical position responsible for insuring our computing infrastructure satisfies the requirements and service levels agreements written by Information Technology Services. It will require consulting with departments, schools, and colleges, as well as external users, to guarantee successful project outcomes. The successful candidate will have some basic scripting and programming knowledge and be able to automate repetitive tasks, generate reports using logs and other source data, and have an excellent ability to assist others as we leverage technology to enhance productivity. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in related technical field and at least two (2) years operational support experience with technology. Linux (Fedora, RHEL, OpenSUSE, Debian GNU, Ubuntu, etc.) and Windows (2008/2012/2016 Server) based experience using physical and virtual systems. Experience with security and maintaining a secure computing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills & Abilities: * Working knowledge of troubleshooting Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems. * Ability to perform effective code testing in support of modern DevOps agile procedures to rapidly deliver software and security updates. * Understanding of the following functions is expected in this position: source control (Git, Bitbucket, SVN ) continuous integration (Jenkins, Bamboo) infrastructure automation ( Puppet, Ansible ) orchestration (Kubernetes, Swarm) containers ( Docker, Singularity ) cloud technologies ( VMware vCloud Automation Center, Azure, AWS, Openstack/Xen ) network and firewall awareness open source and Gnu toolchain general scripting abilities ( shells, perl, python, powershell ) * Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment and to communicate well with IT and non-IT staff, with excellent written, verbal, and E-communications skills. * Ability to learn new technologies and draw on them to deliver value to customers for end-to-end success. * Ability to multi-task and work on several critical projects at once and work under pressure at key times of the year to meet deadlines. Preferred: * Experience working with virtualization technologies. * General storage administrator SAN and NAS experience. * Programming experience in Java, Python, Perl, Ruby, and/or C . * General LAMP background, which includes database administration assistance and web administration and configuration. * Cloud computing experience with IAAS, PAAS, SAAS, and FAAS.
